🚨 Important Update for Renters in the UK 🚨

From 1 May 2026, new legislation will bring major changes to private renting:

🏠 No-Fault Evictions Ending – Landlords will no longer be able to evict tenants without a valid reason. Section 21 “no-fault” evictions will be abolished.

⚖️ Stronger Tenant Protections – Evictions can only happen for specific, legally defined reasons, such as rent arrears or serious breaches of the tenancy agreement.

📝 Your Rights Matter – Tenants will have more security and landlords will need to follow the proper legal process.

💡 What You Should Do –

- Keep all your tenancy agreements and correspondence safe
- Understand your rights under the new legislation
-Seek advice if you are served notice before or after 1 May 2026

These changes are designed to make renting fairer and protect tenants from unfair evictions. Knowledge is power – stay informed and stay protected!

The past few weeks have been intense 💥

We’ve been supporting clients who are being pushed to breaking point by housing famlilures and unfair treatment.

🏠 Chasing repairs with housing associations — including a tenant left over 10 days with no heating or hot water
📄 Writing and escalating formal complaints when people aren’t being listened to
💷 Helping clients understand the difference between DROs and IVAs so they can make informed choices
⚖️ Drafting court defences for tenants facing the risk of legal action
🚨 Stepping in where a landlord attempted an illegal eviction, making sure the tenant knew their rights and the landlord knew the law

This is what advocacy looks like.
This is why housing rights matter.

And this is why we keep going — because no one should face this alone.

If you or someone you know needs support, reach out.

🚨 COUNCIL TAX ENFORCEMENT SHOULDN’T PUSH PEOPLE INTO CRISIS 🚨

This week we supported a woman facing enforcement action for council tax arrears. She tried to do the right thing — she contacted the enforcement agents, explained her situation, and offered what she could realistically afford.

She was told she must pay £800 upfront or face removal of her goods.

She couldn’t afford it.

What many people don’t know is this 👇
✅ Councils are still responsible for enforcement agents acting on their behalf
✅ People should not be pressured into unaffordable payments
✅ Councils can withdraw cases from enforcement and agree affordable repayment plans
✅ Enforcement agents cannot force entry for council tax

Debt, enforcement, and housing insecurity are closely linked. Fear of bailiffs, rising arrears, and unaffordable demands are pushing more people toward homelessness every day.

💬 No one should be intimidated for being poor.
🤝 Support, fairness, and affordable solutions must come first.

If you or someone you know is struggling with council tax, enforcement action, or housing worries — you are not alone. Free, independent help is available.

Last week, we were made aware of an abandoned property thanks to a vigilant neighbour who suspected that someone had left their home without notifying the housing association.

We immediately collected all the necessary evidence and reported it to the hosting association so they can begin their investigation.

This is a reminder of how important it is for communities to look out for one another—your awareness can make a real difference in ensuring properties are used responsibly and potentially help those in need of housing.

If you notice any empty or neglected properties in your area, please let us or the housing association know. Together, we can make our community safer and more supportive for everyone. 💙

Happy New Year.

May this be the year no one has to sleep on concrete, no one is invisible, and no one is forgotten.

As the year comes to a close, we pause to remember those who are facing tonight without a home, warmth, or loved ones beside them. 💛
Before the celebrations begin, let’s choose compassion. A kind word, a warm meal, a donated blanket, or simply seeing someone as human can make all the difference.
No one should enter the New Year feeling forgotten.
Let’s carry hope, dignity, and kindness into the year ahead—for everyone. ✨

It’s Movember — but not every man can grow a moustache. Some are just trying to survive. 🖤

While many grow a ‘Mo’ to spark conversations about men’s mental health, thousands of men sleeping rough tonight don’t have that luxury.
They’ve lost their homes, their support networks — and too often, their sense of worth.

💭 75% of people experiencing homelessness are men.
💭 Men are 3x more likely to die by su***de.

This Movember, let’s grow more than moustaches — let’s grow compassion, connection, and change.

🧔🏽✨ How to help:
✅ Start a conversation — check in on a mate who’s gone quiet.
✅ Donate to shelters that support men’s mental health & housing.
✅ Share this post to spread awareness.

Because behind every beard, every bruise, every bench — there’s a story that matters.

👻 Happy Halloween from all of us! 🎃

Tonight, while many of us dress up for fun —
some are just trying to stay warm. 🧥

When the costumes come off and the lights go out,
thousands still have no home to return to. 💔

This Halloween, let’s make kindness the real magic. ✨
A hot drink, a meal, or even a kind word can change someone’s night. 💛

Together, we can make the streets a little less scary. 🕯️

Not every Monday starts with meetings and emails.

Some start with cold pavements, empty stomachs, and tired eyes.

But your kindness can rewrite someone’s week — even their life. 💙

🥣 Buy a meal.
🧦 Donate warm socks.
🤝 Smile, say hello, start a conversation.

Because for someone out there, that could be the best part of their Monday.
