🌟 Volunteers’ Week + One Year as CEO
This week has been a powerful reminder of what truly holds Hearing Help Essex together — our incredible volunteers, frontline teams, service managers, admin staff, and the wider community around us.
Standing together at Volfest felt like the perfect moment to reflect on my first year as CEO. It’s been a year that has stretched and reshaped me, full of challenges, but also full of learning about leadership, resilience, and the strength of community. Through it all, our team and volunteers have kept HHE steady — something I’m deeply grateful for.
It was also fantastic to meet the Mayor at the event and to speak with Chelmsford Community Radio, helping us share the vital work we do supporting people with hearing loss across Essex.
During Volunteers’ Week especially, it’s so important to recognise the people who give their time, energy, and compassion to support others. Seeing volunteers and staff side by side captured the spirit of HHE perfectly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year — I’m proud to lead such an inspiring organisation as we look ahead with clarity, purpose, and heart. 💙 Sarah
