Champions of Change is a new initiative by the ECB launched alongside the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, designed to empower young people aged 14-18 to make a positive difference through cricket 🆕

We’re inviting clubs and community organisations across England and Wales to support young people in applying and taking part 🙌

Champions of Change gives participants the opportunity to:
✍️ Develop and deliver a project that improves their club or community
🧠 Build leadership skills and confidence
🤝 Connect with a network of like-minded young people
👥 Receive training, mentorship, and ongoing support
🏏 Access exclusive ICC Women’s T20 World Cup merchandise

No experience needed, just an idea and passion 🫵

🏏 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐱 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🏆

A fantastic day of women’s cricket on Sunday at with four teams battling it out for silverware.

👏 Congratulations to Colchester and East Essex Cricket Club on becoming Essex Women’s 100 Cup Champions and to Hutton Cricket Club for lifting the Plate.

Well played to Kelvedon & Feering CC Cup Runners Up and Frenford Cricket Club Plate Runners Up who also put on some brilliant performances throughout the competition.

A huge thank you to Gosfield School for hosting the finals and providing a great venue for the day, and to Essex Association of Cricket Officials umpires Golam and Raza for officiating both matches 🤝

Summer is heating up and along with higher temperatures, there are high risks for players, clubs, officials and volunteers. The ECB have updated their guidelines to aid safety and decision making when it comes to the hot temperatures 🌡️

*Clubs who have fixtures scheduled (on play-cricket) between 23rd and 26th June in competitions operated by Essex Cricket in the Community have been contacted directly with options and guidance.

The MCC Community Cricket Heroes campaign has been launched for 2026! The panel of judges are looking for unsung grassroots heroes from across the UK 🙌
