Keene Quilters invites you to an incredible talk with Sarah Ashford to hear about the only known surviving quilt to be made at sea!

Our story begins with 180 convict women, 20 wannabe stitchers, 24 hanks of cotton thread, 100 needles, 2 pounds of patchwork pieces, 1 quilt instructor, 1 captain and 1 ship way back in 1841.

The journey from Woolwich in London to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) ends with a true romance, 20 quilters, 1 finished quilt and hope for a new and better life.

Sarah Ashford will be joining us via ZOOM. you can either watch from the comfort of your own home or if you are local to Stock Village hall, Stock, Essex you can join us in the hall and watch it on the big screen.

THIS TALK WILL BE RECORDED AND AVAILABLE FOR 7 DAYS FOR ALL TICKETS HOLDERS
