Hello, you wonderful human beings π
September has been a beautiful month of creativity, connection and community.
The Woodland Woom hosted a Riverside Jam, a Seeds of Song Singing Circle, a Music of the Forest event, and our very first Peaceful Pilgrimage, walking from Chelmsford City to the Woom in Danbury. We walked with the intention to contribute to peace and land justice, and ended with a delicious community food share, music, dance, poetry and gratitude around the fire.
The latter part of the month took me further afield, representing The Woodland Woom and Black Roots as a community member and delegate.
From the Emerging Earth Gathering in Somerset https://www.42acres.com/retreats/emerging-earth-2026/ to Terra Madreβs Slow Food Movement in Turin, Italy. https://2026.terramadresalonedelgusto.com/en/ We connected with growers, Indigenous communities, artists, activists and changemakers from around the world, sharing ideas about community, food, soil and how to restore health and freedom throughout our communities.
One particularly beautiful connection was with Catherine and Maryfe from the Philippines. Catherine grows and processes cocoa on her homestead https://www.facebook.com/share/1HJtvrBikD/
while teaching local children the craft. Our meeting culminated in a deeply moving cocoa ceremony. This connection has inspired The Wooms final cookery workshop of the year. We will be learning how to make healing chocolate hearts using cacao from Catherine's farm. ππ«β€οΈ
I also just returned. from Nikki Trott's Sacred Business Gathering, https://www.nikkitrott.com/sacredbusiness which was held at the beautiful Bingham Riverhouse in Richmond.

Founders and investors from diverse backgrounds were held, nurtured and nourished by the team, as we explored with each other our relationship with money, our business purpose, our drives, and the legacies we hope to leave behind. Iβve returned home feeling deeply grateful for the conversations had and connections made.
Thank you to everyone nurturing the land, planting and making vital foods, creating meaningful spaces and bringing people together with care and purpose
