Fantastic news for The Cheadle Academy!

They have secured funding from the RHS to boost local biodiversity and create new nature spaces on the school grounds.

Volunteer Day TOMORROW!

When: Saturday 28 March

Who: Supported by the Friends of Cecily Brook

The school is looking for volunteers and plant donations to help get the project started. If you can spare some time or some greenery, get in touch!

📩 Contact: [email protected]

We’re delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding to create new spaces for nature across our school grounds. Thanks to support from the RHS and National Education Nature Park Grants, we’ll be enriching biodiversity on our site and creating outdoor areas that students and wildlife can enjoy for years to come.

We’re also grateful to the wonderful local volunteers from The Friends of Cecily Brook, who will be joining us on Saturday 28th March to help kick-start the project.

🌱 Want to get involved?
We’d love to welcome parents, carers, students (with an accompanying adult), and members of our community to join in.

If you’d like to lend a hand (or have spare plants to donate) please contact our school office for more details! [email protected]

Let’s grow something amazing together 💚

Thank you

A Huge Thank You to Forget Me Nots! 🌸
We have some wonderful news to share following the mess on Sunday. The lovely team at Forget Me Nots Florist Cheadle on the High Street have kindly donated three trays of beautiful primulas to help us replant the damaged planters on Greyhound Walk.

A massive thank you to Heather and Katy for such a kind gesture. Their shop always look absolutely stunning, and these new flowers are exactly what we need to get everything looking its best again.

Local support like this truly makes our town special!

Mother’s Day Reminder: 💐
If you haven't sorted your flowers yet, they are still taking orders! Do pop in and see them to get your bouquets booked in! Let’s support our local businesses!

A huge thank you to everyone who stepped in to help this evening. Unfortunately, all of our planters on Greyhound Walk and at the end of the High Street were deliberately overturned earlier tonight.
We are incredibly grateful to the Cheadle in Bloom volunteers and the many members of the public who stopped to lend a hand. It was particularly heartening to see so many young people pause their evening plans to help us tidy up and get the displays back in order.

We are excited to launch our new Sponsor Spotlight page for 2026

Cheadle in Bloom would simply not be possible without the generous support of our local business sponsors. From planters and planting schemes to tools, materials and maintenance, their backing helps us keep Cheadle looking its best all year round.

Our new Sponsor Spotlight page is a small way of saying thank you, while also giving a shout out to the brilliant local businesses who support what we do. Each sponsor now has a dedicated entry with a link to their website, so please do take a look and support them if you can. If you spot any errors or would like to suggest an amendment (or omission!) please contact us via this page!

A little setback before Remembrance Sunday.

We were saddened to find that one of the planters in the War Memorial Gardens at Tean Road Rec has been completely cleared of its flowers overnight. It’s always disheartening to see this happen, especially so close to Remembrance Sunday.

But in true Cheadle in Bloom spirit, our volunteers will be back out today to replant it and make sure the gardens look their best for tomorrow’s service.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and care for our town’s green spaces. Together, we’ll keep Cheadle blooming.

The new planting is in and it’s already looking like a wonderful display for autumn and spring! The polyanthus are starting to show and the pansies are enjoying the sunshine in between the showers.

The troughs on the Terrace and Daisy Bank are being taken down today, and the hanging baskets will follow in a few weeks as we finish tidying up for the season.

A big thank you to everyone who’s helped bring a bit of colour to Cheadle once again. It’s looking lovely!
