Representatives of the Club attending District Conference this weekend in Eastbourne for a busy programme of speakers and fellowship.

On Thursday 24th September 2026 there was an official Charter evening for the new club formed by the amalgamation of Chatham and Strood clubs.

Chatham had 100 years of history and Strood 50 years and there were 3 founder members of Strood present to celebrate.

The first President of the amalgamation is Hazel who is pictured being presented with the new Charter.

The club met up for a fellowship evening doing a spot of Archery. 16 members had a go and at the end of the evening there was a friendly competition won by Denis, Lesley, Carl and Paul.

This week the Club visited Meopham Windmill, a Grade II listed hexagonal smock mill built in 1801. It is one of only a handful of six-sided windmills remaining in the UK and has been recently restored to full working glory. An interesting visit followed by some lunch!

Club members raised £430 at Morrisons this Friday and Saturday bucket shaking for the Air Ambulance and other Rotary supported charities. Well done team!

We had great fun today at Medway's Dragonboat races today looking for possible new members at the Rotary Club of Medways Sunlights annual flagship event.

Well done and thanks to our club members that were out collecting at the Sweeps festival on Bank Holiday Monday to raise £450 for charity.
