On Saturday, 17th October 2026, as part of our fundraising campaign, we're hosting a concert at St. Mary's Church, Chard, to raise much-needed funds for Chard Foodbank: The Lord's Larder, Rotary Peace Garden, and other local good causes. A little while ago, the club had a collection at Tesco Chard for the earthquake disaster in Venezuela. Once again, the people of Chard were generous in their donations.

As a result of our fundraising activities and the generosity of the people of Chard, we have donated £1,500 to a Rotary Action Group - Disaster Network of Assistance that is purchasing emergency supplies and delivering life saving assistance to those affected by the earthquake in Venezuela. Thank you for your generosity.

What a fantastic day of community spirit

Members of Chard Rotary Club had a busy Saturday collecting donations for those affected by the devastating earthquake in Venezuela, while others were helping serve and support guests at the free Community Lunch (donations welcomed)

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, stopped to chat, or encouraged us throughout the day. Every contribution, will bring hope and practical support to families rebuilding their lives after this tragedy.

We're incredibly proud of our Rotarians and partners who gave up their Saturday to support both our local community and people in need overseas.

If you'd like to make a difference in our community too, why not come along to one of our meetings or speak to a member. We're always looking for people who want to put into action through friendship, fun and community service.

A new Rotary year commenced on 1st July. The handover of the club presidency took place on 30th June, together with two people awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship for outstanding work in the community.

The club is also pleased to announce that we will contribute £750 from our own funds to the Venezuela earthquake disaster

A huge thank you to the wonderful congregation of St Mary's Church Chard for your generous donation to support Chard Rotary Club's appeal in support of those affected by the recent earthquake in Venezuela.

Your kindness and compassion will help bring much needed relief to people facing unimaginable hardship.

We are continuing to raise funds for this appeal.

Three Rotarians and their wives visited a rather misty Seaton Wetlands on Tuesday evening. Despite the low lying clouds, plenty of birds were in action. The ever energetic Sand Martins, Swans, Geese, Shell Ducks and a nest of ducklings were spotted. The area attracts considerable wildlife interest, from wildfowl and wading birds in the winter to dragonflies and butterflies in the summer. After the walk around a drink was enjoyed at The Hind in Musbury.
