Environmental Education Centre on an organic farm offering residentials and day trips.

Working with schools, families with SEND, young carers, youth groups and many others in a caring and supportive atmosphere.

We have designated reptile sheets across the farm to give these animals a place to warm up and encourage them to the area. 🐍

In particular we love seeing slow worms and grass snakes around our vegetable garden, as they act as pest control by eating the slugs and snails!

Being a part of the The Ernest Cook Trust Outdoor Week of Learning (OWLs) programme, is a highlight for us here at the farm. During the week schools take part in a variety of activities encompassing teamwork, orienteering, farming, and engaging with nature. 💚

One of our activities involves 'Nature Connection Stops'. Whilst out and about across the farm groups are given tasks as a way to connect them with their surroundings. One of the tasks is to write a poem reflecting on the landscape. This beautiful poem was written by two pupils from Beechwood Primary. 💙

Pond dipping gives a chance for our visitors to develop their curiosity. We love seeing the excitement when different creatures are caught and observed. One of our favourite is a dragonfly nymph, the top predator and largest creature in our pond!

The yellow buttercups stand out so well against the green grasses of our floodplain!⭐💚

These areas are managed through conservation grazing with our Red Devon cattle.

The warmer weather has seen our pond spring into life, the perfect timing for our summer visitors to take part in some pond dipping.

Pupils from Combe Down Primary found some amazing creatures, including these damselfly nymphs where the pupils were fascinated by the different colours! 💚🧡

This year's Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students from Huish Episcopi Academy have been busy learning how to navigate across the countryside in preparation for their expedition! 🗺️📍

After a busy morning rooting around in the soil and hay, our pigs Rusty and Honey enjoyed an afternoon sunbathe in their wallow! 🐷

For many groups that visit us, the lack of light pollution creates a first experience of a starry night sky, with planets and constellations in full view.

Although difficult to see on camera, one of our Education Rangers was able to capture a clear starry night over the Farmhouse. ⭐

Along the banks of the river, our Education Ranger Izzie spotted the caterpillar of a Drinker moth.

These caterpillars feed on grasses, and are known for drinking the tiny dew droplets from the leaves!
