3rd Chandler’s Ford Scout Group The 3rd Chandlers Ford is an active Scouting Group based in Chandlers Ford. We have our own HQ off the Kings Road.

Our Groups meet weekly during school term times at our HQ and do other outside events, activities and camps.

The Cubs had an evening at the World Cup! OK, so it was the Women's T20 cricket WC in Southampton rather than the football in the USA but it was an amazing evening, with the game between New Zealand and Ireland going down to the last ball before NZ won by 5 runs. All the Cubs were really well behaved and had a fab time.

This evening the Beavers had a really interesting visit from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, along with Theo their dog in training. We learnt how the dogs are trained, what they can do and how they can help people who are hard of hearing. The Beavers all enjoyed giving him a treat when he obeyed a command.

Don't forget that this Friday sees the Scout Group AGM, at Cranbury Park from 5.30pm to around 7.45pm. It will be a fun and informal evening, don't worry we will rattle through the necessary voting as quickly as possible and keep the speeches to a minimum. There will be soft drinks, just bring your chairs/rugs and a picnic. We will have some games to entertain the young people, and we will conclude the evening with a traditional campfire . This is your chance to chat to the leaders who have the pleasure of guiding your children through Scouting, and see for yourselves how much fun they have. Please let the leaders know if you intend to come along, so we can ensure we have enough drinks and biscuits.

Last night saw the Cubs kayaking at Lakeside. All had a lot of fun, learnt plenty and most got wet.

A huge well done to all the Beavers, and leaders, who had a fantastic sleepover at Wi******er Science Centre last night. They loved all the exhibits and enjoyed 2 shows in the Planetarium. All were asleep by 11pm last night, and awake from 4.30am onwards so they should sleep well tonight! Thanks must also go to Georgina, ADC for Arrow District Beavers, for planning and hosting this event to celebrate 40 years of Beaver Scouts, and to all the staff at the Science Centre who looked after us so well and kept us fed and watered.

Tonight the Scouts built a racetrack around which they raced remote controlled cars. Special thanks to James for risking his precious (expensive) cars with our amateur drivers - including me!
