Pets As Therapy (PAT) is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. Our volunteers and their temperament-assessed pets visit establishments such as care homes, hospitals, hospices, schools and prisons, and bring smiles to many faces. People of all ages get the chance to chat to someone — and stroke and cuddle a friendly dog or cat.

Huge congratulations to Matilda, Thom and their dog Scout too!

This incredible pair from Sheffield just conquered Mount Snowdon to raise money for PAT, and we couldn't be prouder. This was Matilda's THIRD summer fundraising challenge (she's already bagged Scafell Pike!), and this year she brought her little brother along for the climb 🙌

Their goal? Helping bring a PAT Dog to their school, St John the Baptist Primary in Pen*stone — because they know first-hand the difference a therapy dog can make to children's confidence, calm and readiness to learn.

Thom said it best: "I liked it because lots of people said 'well done'. It was a tough climb, but I felt happy at the top."

Matilda and Thom — thank you for choosing PAT, for your determination, and for showing the whole country what kindness and grit at 6 and 8 years old looks like. Every pound you've raised will help us bring more moments of magic to people who need them most 💙

Magic Mike meets PAT magic!

Ahead of their exclusive run at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, the Magic Mike cast and crew took some well-deserved downtime with our PAT volunteers and their dogs before the shows.

Nothing like a bit of puppy cuddles to calm the pre-show nerves, even for a cast this experienced! 🐶💙

A few weeks ago at the Conquest Hospital, Mabel was introduced to Elsie and her family. Elsie had lost her own dog last year and was feeling low, but the moment she met Mabel, her face lit up.

By the second visit, the two of them had fallen asleep together on the floor. By the third, they were exploring the hospital together on a little walk.

Today, Elsie went home. And she went out in style as Mabel's helper for the day, handing out PAT stickers to everyone she met.

This is exactly why our volunteers and their dogs do what they do. Thank you to Elsie's family for letting us share this beautiful journey💙
