So on Thursday, Ox and Bucks are attending an event at HMP Bullingdon between 12 and 2. However if you're near Reading around 8 in the evening then pop along to hear Alan Wakefield's excellent talk 'Mountains, Mules and Malaria - soldiering with the British Salonika Force 1915/ 1918' at Berkshire County Sports Club, Sonning Lane, RG4-6ST. Thames Valley Branch look forward to welcoming you.

Tomorrow's meeting will start at 2.30 in the Guide Centre, School Lane, Chalfont St Giles when we welcome Dr Anne Sampson who will be talking about 'The Indian Army in East Africa - 1914'. Our picture shows a 10 pounder gun with Indian Army crew.

Saturday's talk will be 'The Italian Front 1915-1918' and our speaker will be Prof. Peter Caddick-Adams. Peter has visited us previously and this is a welcome return. Our meeting starts at 2.30 in the Guide Centre, School Lane, Chalfont St. Giles. Our photo shows Italian troops using a surveying camera.

Saturday's meeting starts at 2.30 in the Guide Centre, School Lane, Chalfont St. Giles. We're having our AGM and then a presentation on the Chinese Labour Corps. Over 140,000 served in the corps. Our photo, courtesy of CWGC, shows one of the CLC carving headstones and a finished example.

We were asked about the Great War Belgian Explosives factory in Colnbrook, Bucks and if anything remains. Sadly the answer was and is no, the site is now under a freight handling area for Heathrow Airport. However in Horton Churchyard can be found the grave of Dorothy Moss, who died in an accident at Colnbrook aged 17. Sorry for the blurred picture, it was taken during a heavy downpour!
