NWG Is proud to be part of a consortium of leading organisations behind the new report ‘Decade of dignity: a strategic vision for eradicating modern slavery in the UK’.
The message is clear: the UK’s current response to modern slavery is not working. Weak enforcement, fragmented systems, and gaps in support are allowing exploitation to persist – while survivors struggle to rebuild their lives.

This report sets out a clear, practical roadmap to change that, focused on four key priorities:
• Stronger corporate accountability.
• A tougher criminal justice response.
• A survivor-centred system.
• A joined-up national strategy to tackle child exploitation.

Together, these reforms can help dismantle criminal networks, prevent exploitation, and ensure survivors are supported with dignity.
Now is the moment for renewed leadership and coordinated action across government, business, and civil society.

Safeguarding in the Faith Sector

As different Religions have or will be celebrating their individual Festivals, let’s not forget that safeguarding is a vital way to show we care for our communities. During these times of high attendance and community celebration, robust safeguarding measures help ensure that our places of worship are truly safe and welcoming for everyone, particularly children and vulnerable adults.

Faith and other community leaders hold great trust and influence within their organisations. The NWG Network believes safeguarding is essential because faith settings are often where people turn during their most difficult times. We encourage all faith and community leaders to watch and share our Faith Resource https://stop-ce.org/cse-faith-guidance/ to help strengthen these vital safeguards.

This animation has been specifically designed for the faith sector to help individuals within these communities – whether parents, community members, faith leaders or volunteers, to understand how to recognise signs of abuse and respond effectively to concerns. By working together, we can create safer environments for children and vulnerable adults within the faith community.
