You don't need to know how to tie a reef knot.

You don't need a teaching qualification, a first aid certificate, or a perfectly organised craft box.

You just need to care 💜

Girlguiding volunteers come from all walks of life — and every single one of them makes a difference to the girls in their community. Whether you can offer an hour here and there or you're ready to dive in as a leader, there's a place for you somewhere in Ceredigion.

We have units right across the county looking for amazing people just like you. Girls in your area are waiting for a leader like you to show up.

Girlguiding volunteering: it's only 1 hour a week.

(It is not 1 hour a week.)

It's craft prep at 11pm. It's a WhatsApp group that never sleeps. It's Googling "how to tie a bowline knot" in a supermarket car park.

It's also the best thing our volunteers have ever done.

This — thank you to everyone who signed up for an hour and gave so much more 💜

Think you could be one of them?

💙 Volunteers' Week 2026 💙

This week, we celebrate the incredible volunteers who make Girlguiding Ceredigion such a special place to belong.

From running weekly meetings and organising adventures to offering encouragement, friendship and support, our volunteers give their time and energy to help girls and young women discover their potential, build confidence and have fun.

We know that behind every great guiding experience is a volunteer who has made a difference. Perhaps someone welcomed you when you first joined, encouraged you to try something new, supported you through a challenge, or inspired you to become a leader yourself.

We'd love to hear your stories!

✨ Tag or mention a volunteer who has supported, inspired or encouraged you and tell us why they deserve a special thank you.

Let's fill the comments with appreciation for the amazing people who help Girlguiding Ceredigion thrive every day.

Thank you this Volunteers’ week; a message from our County Commissioner.

It is an absolute honour to be not only a member of Girlguiding Ceredigion but to also be County Commissioner. All our volunteers do amazing things not just for our young members but also supporting each other. You do this week in week out including school holidays and whether this is a few minutes to many hours (Remember: it’s only an hour a week!!) the units in Ceredigion County could not run without your support and you are truly appreciated. I would especially like to Thank You all for you hard work and dedication as we start “Volunteers Week” and return to running our units after the half term.

We are so lucky to have volunteers of all ages ranging from 14- (past retirement age) and I really hope you enjoy and get satisfaction from your volunteering, and it enhances other aspects of your day to day lives.

In the 2026 new year’s honours list we had not just one, but two volunteers from Ceredigion recognised and awarded MBE’s for their volunteering with Girlguiding so congratulations to Lynne Mansfield MBE and Caroline Wilson MBE. We were so proud that your volunteering has been recognised nationally.

I would like to give a special Thank You to the County exec team who without their support behind the scenes I would not be able to manage and the leadership at 1st Penparcau Brownies as I am sure I am only there in body most weeks.
So again, a massive heartfelt Thank You to you all this week and every week.

📣 Parents and carers, help us celebrate the amazing volunteers behind Girlguiding Cymru 💙

Did you know that every Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger leader is a volunteer? ✨ They give their time to help girls learn new skills, make friends and create unforgettable memories across Cymru.

Volunteers’ Week 2026 takes place from 1 to 7 June, and we’d love you to help us say thank you by uploading a short video message from your Rainbow, Brownie, Guide or Ranger for our celebrations 🎥

We’d love to hear:
⭐ Why they appreciate their leaders.
⭐ Their leaders’ names.
⭐ Their favourite Girlguiding memories.

Videos may be shared on our social media channels, website and promotional materials during Volunteers’ Week 2026.

📱 Video tips:
• Keep videos under 1 minute.
• Film on a phone or camera.
• Make sure they can be clearly seen and heard.

We would also love to have some Welsh videos.

By uploading a video, you confirm permission for Girlguiding Cymru to use the footage for promotional purposes.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the incredible volunteers who support girls and young women across Cymru 💙
