Eddies funeral will be on Wednesday 8th July at 1pm at Woodlands Crematorium, followed by a celebration of his life at South Cliff Golf Club.

If anyone who comes to Drop In would like a lift please let us know as we may be able to help 💙

We are very sad to hear of the sudden passing of one of our regulars , lovely Eddie Barker .

Eddie was always smiling , always happy and loved coming to Drop In with his fantastic wife Sue . Although we have missed them both for a few weeks , we sent cake home for Eddie so he had them with his cups of tea . He was just a thoroughly nice man , a gentleman and genuine human being always asking after us all .

We will miss Eddie very much and we are sending all of our love to Sue and their family . We shall hold you all in our thoughts and Eddie in our hearts 💕

This photo was on last years trip to Skipton where he had a lot of cake and a lot of laughs , just how we will remember him , smiling .....

We are really saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Maggie Byrne this week . Along with her husband Steve and their two little dogs , Maggie used to whizz through the hall for Drop In and she always had another plan for fundraising and was a force to be reckoned with 🥰

Maggie's funeral will be at 10am on 18th June 2026 at Scarborough Crematorium.

We send all our love to Steve at this sad time x

We have moved on to sandwiches and cake now , look forward to seeing you for lunch from 11am to 1pm ❤️ at the Methodist Chapel today 😀

A lot of our volunteers met for our annual team meeting today and also we invited some of our supporters along for lunch afterwards.
Mary and Ruth bake for us each week which really helps us out so they came along as well as
Liv & Nat from North Yorkshire Police - Yorkshire Coast who have been brilliant in supporting residents who come along each week so we we thrilled they could pop in for a cuppa too .
We also invited some of our semi retired volunteers who we know we can count on to help us out when needed.
Also we welcomed our two new volunteers , Rachael who will be on the waitressing team and Sarah who is joining the kitchen team 😀
Finally our thanks to Cayton Methodist Church who are so supportive of us and who have made us part of their family ❤️
See you all next week for cake 🍰💓

A reminder there is no Drop In this week as it is our annual team meeting and a chance for all of our volunteers to get together and discuss any changes we need to make . See you all next week when we change our menu over to sandwiches and cakes 💜

Phew we had a busy lunchtime today but it was so fantastic to see these little people , their friends and their Mummies 😘 they have been coming since they were teeny, tiny and it is great to see them all growing! We had fruit jelly at the ready for them today 🥰
