The Women’s Institute was formed in 1915 with two clear aims: to revitalise rural communities and to encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then our aims have broadened and we are now the largest women’s organisation in the UK. We celebrated our 90th anniversary in 2005 and currently have 205,000 members in 6,500 WIs.

Another successful annual event for Caunton WI serving refreshments at Floral Media open gardens.

A big thank you to all our members who supplied such beautiful and scrumptious cakes you certainly did us proud. Also to the ladies who helped on the day -we couldn’t have done it without you. Last but not least everyone who came and supported us.

What a great evening with our speaker Richard After. He brought along his Indian musical 🎶 instruments and totally inspired us to play(not sure if we are in tune). It was a very entertaining and enjoyable meeting.

Well done 👏 to our darts team who played in the County Championship and won. Great result ladies.
