After years of fighting… we finally won.

Lyla is now at Forest Park School — the place she should have been a long time ago.

Not because it was easy.
Not because the system worked.
But because we refused to give up.

There were times we were exhausted.
Times we felt like we were getting nowhere.
Times we thought about walking away from the fight.

But we didn’t.

And now… her first week is done — and she’s loving it.

Happy. Safe. Supported. Exactly where she should be.

The staff at Forest Park have been nothing short of incredible.
The way they’ve handled Lyla’s transition, the care, the understanding — it’s everything we fought for.

This is what happens when a child finally gets the right environment.

To any parent going through this right now…

I know how hard it is.
I know how draining it is.
I know how close you get to giving up.

But don’t.

Keep going.
Keep pushing.
Keep fighting for your child.

Because when it finally happens — it’s worth everything.

💛

How many emails should a parent have to send before a child gets an education, North Yorkshire Council?

I’m not a lawyer.
I’m not a politician.
I’m a dad.

But for years I’ve had to learn policy, challenge decisions, and fight processes just to try to secure something the law already says my daughter is entitled to — safe, suitable education.

Professionals agree about her needs.
Schools recognise the risks.
Panels discuss.
Yet the delays continue.

Everyone knows.
Everyone agrees.
But my child is still waiting.

While paperwork moves, a childhood is passing.

This isn’t just Lyla’s story.
Families across the country are living the same reality — but this is happening here, under the responsibility of North Yorkshire Council.

If those in power truly want to understand the SEND crisis, listen to the parents who are forced to become campaigners simply to protect their children’s basic rights.

We are tired.
We are frustrated.
But we are not going away.

💛 Please share.

Some things don’t show up until you look deeper.

I recently went to one of One Day Tests’ clinics for blood tests — and honestly, the process was fast, professional, and incredibly easy.

What surprised me most was what came back.
Some of my blood markers were seriously abnormal — things the NHS doesn’t routinely test for. If I hadn’t had these tests when I did, I would never have known.

Not long after, I ended up in hospital.
My CK levels were extremely high, and it was starting to damage my kidneys. I was very lucky it was caught in time.

This isn’t about fear — it’s about awareness.
Private testing gave me information I simply didn’t have before, and that information mattered.

If clinic visits aren’t for you, One Day Tests also offer at-home testing kits. You can choose what works best for you — just check their website for full details.

Sometimes, knowledge really is power.
And sometimes, it can protect your health.

We’ve always shared Lyla’s journey — the good, the hard, and everything in between.

This part of her story is no different.

Since moving to North Yorkshire in 2022, Lyla — a child with complex medical and neurological needs — has been repeatedly failed by the SEND system.

Out-of-date EHCPs.
Missed education.
Safety concerns ignored.
Decisions made without accurate information.

This is about a system that continues to fail vulnerable children and their families.

Lyla’s journey has always been about awareness, honesty, and impact — and this is a reality many SEND families will recognise.

If this feels familiar, you are not alone.
Please share — awareness is how change starts 💛

Merry Christmas everyone

Lyla asked for some and tickets for Christmas, she only wanted them, if she could have anything in the world.
So guess what we did, we waited until today to give her them lol

Was definitely worth the extra day wait ❤️❤️

✨ Nobody tells you how magical the ordinary moments can be ✨

Last night at , surrounded by lights, laughter and a little bit of magic — we were reminded why we do this.

Not for perfect photos.
Not for big plans.
But for memories that stay long after the lights go out 🤍

These are the moments we’ll always choose.
Slow nights. Big smiles. Just being together.

If you could freeze one family moment forever…
what would it be? 💭👇

Too many kids are being failed by local authority, why do we need to fight so hard for what our kids are entitled too, even worse when her case worker says’ oh I know how you feel’ no you don’t, she’s just a case to you.
