I thought I would write something about how this all started. In the middle of the first lockdown I was walking around the allotments when a young woman came up and asked me if I knew of any English classes. She and her friends had come to England recently and wanted to learn English. I searched on-line and found no one was holding face to face classes. Then of course I had to admit that I used to be a teacher and would try to sort something out for them. It took some time to arrange.With my sister, who also volunteered, a small grant from Surrey C.C. and the support of the Westway, we managed to get this group going and now have 10 participant and Jenny another volunteer.
