⚔️The Vikings are coming to Ushaw!⚔️
💛🖤Hrafnsdale will be bringing the action all weekend – Sat 27th & Sun 28th September 🔥

Here’s what you can look forward to at the Ushaw Viking Weekend:

1️⃣ Our Bounds Field will be home to a living history Viking village with 120 Viking Structures
2️⃣ Meet Vikings, get hands on and try some heritage crafts including Blacksmithing, Bread making & making your own mead!
3️⃣ Watch full contact combat as the Vikings demonstrate combat techniques and then recreate the Battle of Brunanburgh
4️⃣ Let the children get involved in battles with Kiddie Vike throughout both days
5️⃣ In the Refectory, we will also have a Taditional Craft & Farmer's Market.

⚔️ Tomorrow we ride to war! ⚔️

This weekend the Hrafnsdale Vikings are joining forces with Cwmwd-lâl and many others at the mighty Chirk Castle 🏰 to bring the past roaring back to life.

Step into 1165, when King Henry II marched into Wales—only to be met with fierce resistance at the Battle of Crogen.
The Welsh did not fight by English rules… they fought to win. Brutal, bloody, unrelenting. And tomorrow, you’ll see it unfold before your eyes. 🔥

⚔️ Event Highlights
🛡 11:00 – Living history camps open
🏹 11:30 – Single combat, war bands, and archery
🐎 13:00 – Cavalry skills at arms
👑 13:45 – Meet King Henry II & the Welsh Princes
⚔️ 15:00 – The Battle of Crogen
⏳ 16:00 – Event close

With over 150 warriors, cavalry, archers, and living history camps stretching across the castle grounds, this is a day not to be missed.
