✨ STALLHOLDERS WANTED ✨

Are you a crafter, small business, or local seller looking for a lovely community event to showcase your products and meet new customers? We’d love for you to join us at the Smawthorne Summer Gala 2026 💜

📅 Sunday 13th September

📍 Smawthorne Park, Smawthorne Lane, Castleford WF10 4ES

⏰ 11am – 3pm

It’s set to be a fantastic family community day with entertainment, activities, singers, dance groups, cheerleaders, a petting farm, donkeys and much more 🥰

We’d love to hear from:
🛍 Craft stalls
🎨 Handmade & personalised gifts
🧸 Children’s items
🕯 Small local businesses
💙 Unique products and community sellers

⚠️ Please note: We already have our ice cream van and all food/refreshment vendors booked in, so we are not looking for these stalls.

We had some very special visitors to the park last week! Children from Half Acres Nursery did an amazing job litter picking while learning about their community and the environment! We loved having them!

Dodging the showers at Tend and Tidy this week but the park was looking beautiful. One of our magnolia trees was a little bit poorly but with a bit of careful pruning by the park rangers seems to be reviving! ❤️

Last week we were so lucky to have a group of “eco-warriors” from Bright Sparks nursery join us for Tend and Tidy. They had a whale of a time litter picking and planting summer bulbs. We can’t wait to see them all flowering! Thank you Bright Sparks! ❤️

Exciting news! We recently met with the lively Linda Sugden from Parks and Green Spaces to discuss how we can improve facilities at the Willow Road end of the park. As a result three new benches are being installed today. A place to sit, socialise and enjoy the lovely view of the park! Many thanks to Linda, Street Scene and WMDC for enabling this!

Good morning,

We looking for a variety of stalls for our upcoming gala, details below.

📅 Sunday 13th September

📍 Smawthorne Park, Smawthorne Lane, Castleford WF10 4ES - Outdoor Event

⏰ 11am – 3pm

Please note we DO already have an Ice Cream Van and all Food and Refreshments booked in so do not require these.

Great meeting this evening planning our upcoming Gala! 🎉

If anyone would like to volunteer on the day to help out 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️, we would really appreciate the support.

We are also looking for stall holders 🛍️, dance groups 💃 and singers 🎤 who would like to perform or be involved in the day.

If you’re interested, please get in touch 📩

We are also needing raffle and tombola prizes if anyone can donate anything we’d be extremely grateful 🫶🏻

Fabulous afternoon at Tend and Tidy yesterday - we refreshed the sensory garden and can’t wait til everything blooms!
A shout out to our lovely community police who are being a very visible presence in the park and dealing with any anti-social behaviour. Do have a chat if you see them and raise any concerns. We thanked them for their support.
