Food shopping doesn't always have to mean picking up another packet, tub or bottle.

At Bùth Bharraigh we've got a few different ways to shop, from our refillery, where you can bring your own containers and take only what you need, to a range of alternative food options around the shop.

You'll find things like herbs, spices, nuts, seeds and other store cupboard favourites in the refillery, alongside local produce, Scottish products, gluten-free options and plenty of other alternatives to help you shop a little differently.

Bring your own container, refill what you need and help cut down on unnecessary packaging, little changes can make a difference. 💚

Pop in and have a look around next time you're in the Bùth!

🥳 Congratulations to Bùth Bharraigh, who were named winners of the Best Community Tourism & Events Initiative at the well-regarded Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards 2026, last Friday night in Inverness.

Founder and Manager Sarah MacLean and her team have been active members of the SCOTO Network from the start and have become known as the Island shop that will stay open until the ferry comes in!

They will now go forward to represent the Highlands and Islands region as finalists at the Scottish Thistle Awards National Final in November 2026.

A very well researched book on the history of the SS Oakcrest and the ties this wartime tradegy has with Barra and its people.

Easy to read and extremely informative, this would make a great gift for any occasion.
