The Mond Angling Society We are an angling club on the River Tawe This is the official Facebook site for the Mond Angling Society. We fish for Brown Trout, Sea Trout (Sewin) and Salmon.

We fish the river Tawe at Glais in the Swansea Valley and have approximately a mile of fishing. Our membership is open to all and we do our level best to keep membership costs down and fishing quality up.

NRW enforcement officers alongside North Wales Police’s rural crime team will be carrying out regular patrols in and around Llyn Y Dywarchen and Rhyd Ddu. The patrols are in response to a rise in anti-social behaviour and unlicenced fishing in the lake and surrounding area.

If you are aged 13 or over you need a rod licence to fish for salmon, trout, freshwater fish, smelt or eel in Wales or England. Concessions are available for senior and disabled anglers, while junior licences for 13 to 16-year-olds are free but young anglers do need to register.

Income generated by rod licences helps to protect and improve fisheries and facilities for anglers. Fishing without a valid rod licence is illegal and could result in a criminal conviction and a fine.

Licences are available for 12 months, 8 Days and 1 Day and Welsh speakers and learners can now apply for their licence in Welsh. They can be purchased quickly and easily online at “Get a Fishing Licence” on https://orlo.uk/MTDqU or over the phone by calling the Environment Agency on 0344 800 5386.
