The Trustees would like to wish the whole local community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Don't forget the community larder is now closed for maintenance and will reopen on Tuesday 30th December.

ADVANCE INFORMATION

The larder has a lot of fresh stock at the moment, so to help us reduce food waste, please do make use of our opening times Tuesday and Thursday 8.30-10 and 3-4 and Saturday 9.30-11 in the run up to Christmas.

The last day of larder opening before Christmas will be Tuesday 23rd. Following this the larder will be closed for a week, reopening on Tuesday 30th. During that time, work to replace the flooring will be undertaken. There will be no access into the larder during this time, so for food bank users, please plan for this time during your upcoming visits.

If you are in food crisis whilst we are closed, please send us an email at [email protected]

The Battens Charitable Trust is proud to continue supporting local communities this festive season.

Earlier this week, we made donations to Dorchester Community Church Food Bank and Cary Cares, both of which provide essential support to individuals and families experiencing hardship, particularly at this time of year.

A huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to the Battens Charitable Trust. Your generosity makes these contributions possible. If you’d like to help us support incredible causes like this, you can donate via our JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/charity/battenscharitabletrust

The Cary Cares tree at the Christmas Tree festival is up and decorated ready for doors to open at 5pm tomorrow and throughout the weekend.
Over the weekend, we invite you to add your own (paper) hand to our Christmas tree 🎄 as a symbol of the many, many helping hands that are offered by folks across the community. Do drop in and add yours at Castle Cary Methodist Church.

What a wonderful community we have! We've been thrilled with the start of our Christmas Appeal so far this year. Thank you to those individuals and businesses who have already given generous gifts of festive foods or cash donations. You are already making a huge difference!
But there's still plenty of time and ways you can help our work continue. If you have festive produce gifts, please drop them into Cooper and Tanner during opening hours or to us at the Coffee Morning on Saturday, 13th December at The Market House. Cash gifts can also be given at the coffee morning, dropped into Cooper and Tanner, or donated online at www.carycares.org.uk

Let's make sure that nobody goes hungry this Christmas!

Today sees the start of the Cary Cares Christmas Appeal 2025. This year, we are asking you to support people in the Cary and Ansford Community by making donations of festive foods or cash donations to support the ongoing work of the Community Food Bank and Larder.

We'd also love to see lots of people out and about at our Markethouse Coffee Morning on Saturday, 13th December!

As always, a massive thank you to Cooper and Tanner on Fore Street, who have agreed to be a drop-off point for cash or produce gifts.
