Brize Norton is bringing a full village buzz to the Rec this Sunday. Come for the sunshine, stay for the fun. Here’s what’s waiting for you

This is the main event of the year for village charities and organisations to raise vital funds, including Brize Norton Primary School and St Britius Church, so please do pop down and support all these local people and places. It’s one of those proper Brize afternoons where everyone ends up smiling.

🌾 Brize Norton Scarecrow Competition 🌾

The scarecrows are returning to Brize Norton 🧺⚽️

Everyone is invited to take part in this year’s Sporting Scarecrow Competition, running alongside the Village Summer of Sport Bash 2026. Whether you’re a family, a group of friends or a solo creator with a brilliant idea, we would love to see what you come up with 🎨👟

Sport themed scarecrows are welcome. Please display them at your home straight away and bring them to the Village Bash on Sunday 5 July by 1pm for judging. Prize presentations will take place at around 4.30pm. Entries are welcome from residents and non residents. Scarecrows must be safe, secure, weather ready and in good taste.

Entry forms can be sent to Carolyn Peach at [email protected] or dropped off at 52a Station Road before the day.

It’s always a brilliant display of creativity across the village and we can’t wait to see this year’s sporting stars 🌟

The Village Bash committee have been working behind the scenes throughout the year, planning this year’s event. We rely heavily on kind sponsors to contribute towards the costs of running the day, so that village organisations can fundraise without the worry of paying for First Aiders, additional refuse collection and entertainment. This is proving extra tricky this year.

If you know of any kind and generous, local business people who might be able to contribute anything at all towards the costs, please let us know. We’re always appreciative of a raffle prize too!

🎉 Brize Norton Village Quiz Night is back 🧠🍿

Join us on Friday 6 February 2026 at Elder Bank Hall for an evening of fun, laughter and friendly competition in support of future village events.

🕢 Doors open 7.15pm and the quiz starts at 7.30pm
💷 £5 per person
👥 Teams of up to six
🍷 Bring your own drinks and snacks
🎁 Raffle and prizes!

Our quiz master this year is Ralph. Many of you who came along last time will remember just how brilliant his quizzes are. He puts together a night that is clever, funny and full of great energy.

This annual quiz is a favourite in our community and it always brings such a warm atmosphere. Come along and enjoy a great night with friends and neighbours.

Booking is essential.

“Brize Festive Dash”

On Tuesday 16th December we are asking all children to come to school wearing their most festive outfit – whether it is Santa, a reindeer or a Christmas present(!). The more imaginative, the better! KS1 and KS2 PRIZE to be won!

Then, at 1.30pm we hope you will join us for some festive fun as the children set off on their ‘festive dash’! We will be encouraging all children to complete 10 laps of the recreation ground to help raise money for charity!
