A massive BZ (well done) to all cadets and staff involved in today's regatta. It was a very long day and an early start, but the effort was amazing to see!

PO Lily for winning 3 Golds (2 for kayaking 1 for rowing)
Girls Rowing Team winning Gold
Boys Rowing Team for Silver (so close to the gold!).
OC Ryan for wining silver and bronze in kayaking

What a fantastic month May was here at Sutton Sea Cadets
We had - parades, promotions, Offshores, courses, back to unit boating and helping when the circus came to town!

This week POC Lily and 1st Class Cadet Anastasia were on TS Jack Petchey enjoying their offshore experience, they sailed to France and back and both thoroughly enjoyed it

Both cadets gained new qualifications
POC Lily gained her RYA Watch leader and advanced power offshore
1st Class Cadet Anastasia gained her basic and RYA start motor cruise

BZ to both and we can't wait to hear all about it back at the unit

Last week our Commanding Officer presented the Cadets who made their Sea Cadet Promise their berets. Along with some promotions from New entry cadet to full Cadet who recieved their shoulder slides.

Here at Sutton Sea Cadets we are fast growing!

Since January 2025 the unit has had a rapid growth in cadets number from 46 to 67. This growth has been sustained through volunteers increasing over the same period from 13 - 25.

More young people are signing up and we need more space to support them so we are planning on building a dedicated training room, this project provides essential space for all cadets and enables the unit to deliver a range of learning activities.

Last night POC Lily attended the Sutton and Cheam Rotary Clubs Young Citizens Awards.

The other cadets created a video message to say why she should be nominated which was submitted and POC Lily was selected alongside other very deserving young people in the borough to be awarded the Young Citizen Award

This is well deserved, BZ to Lily! T.S. Puma are very proud of you. 👏
