Velocity Racers

Velocity Racers http://www.velocityracers.co.uk/ Our members range from complete beginners to world record holders. Thank you for your interest in How We Roll!

Velocity Racers is run entirely by volunteers, helping disabled athletes of all ages and abilities enjoy the thrill of speed, power and determination through Wheelchair Racing. We aim to raise funds for our racing and training equipment, as well as competition fees and costs. Hopefully our athletes will all get a chance to start off the blocks, and make our friends, family and supporters (especially YOU) proud when we cross the Finish Line.

As cyclists, we have to look out for our racers when training. Even in the open spaces of the Richmond Park, there are plenty of hazards - deer, children, cyclists, and the odd man smartly dressed in shirt and tie, walking on the road.

All in a session's work.

British SUMMER Time is here - so was Sunday's Sun. While we started at our normal time, it seemed most of the Park was exclusively ours. Thanks to our supporting friends, offspring and parents, we basked in the cold sunrise and pushed our very best.

first stop - London Marathon!

Training on the Sunday - where's the sun? Thank you to Victor, who stepped in whilst still jet-lagged!

By 8am on Sunday, Richmond Park was full of cyclists (as usual) and a LOT more runners than ever, presumably preparing for the London Marathon. In anticipation of this, Velocity started training before daybreak to avoid the crowds.

Sure it was cold and miserable, but at least it was character-building!!
