🎉🧗‍♀️ A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR AMAZING ABSEILERS! 🧗‍♂️🎉

What a day! We are SO incredibly proud of every single person who faced their fears and took on the challenge of abseiling down the iconic Europa Hotel in aid of the Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust.

For many of our abseilers, heights was a BIG fear and there were definitely plenty of nervous faces at the top! But they dug deep, conquered those fears and made their way down the building like true champions!👏

Every single person who took part should be incredibly proud of themselves. It takes real courage to step outside your comfort zone, face your fears and do something amazing for others.

And the best part? Every penny raised through their fundraising efforts will stay right here in Northern Ireland, helping to support vital music therapy services for some of the most vulnerable people facing challenges in their lives.

To every abseiler, fundraiser, supporter, family member and friend, THANK YOU! Your generosity and support will make a real difference to the work we do.

This we want to say GOOD LUCK to our very brave Music Therapists who will be abseiling down the Europa Hotel on Sunday!

Lauren, Roisin and Claire will be facing their fears and taking on the Europa Hotel Abseil in aid of Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust. Hear more about what they get up to when they're not scaling down the side of a building!

Roisin:
Roisin qualified as a Music Therapist in 2015 and has been a dedicated member of the NIMTT team for over 10 years. She has extensive experience working with a wide range of client groups, including individuals living with dementia, physical disabilities, acquired brain injury, mental health needs, learning disabilities, and those receiving palliative care. Her work spans diverse settings such as day centres, schools, hospitals, supported living services, and secure forensic environments.

Lauren:
Lauren joined the Northern Ireland Music Therapy Team in 2020. Since then, she has experience working with a wide range of client groups of all ages in both individual and group music therapy sessions. Lauren enjoys working with individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity, dementia, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and mental health needs.

Claire:
Since joining Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust as a Music Therapist in 2011, Claire has worked with a range of client groups of all ages. In recent years her work has remained within Children's Special Needs Education and Adult Mental Health Hospital settings.

WHAT IS MUSIC THERAPY?

➡️Music Therapy is a evidence based clinical intervention that is used in the treatment of a wide range of illnesses and conditions.

➡️It activates multiple neural networks simultaneously, meaning it can strengthen connections between the brain regions responsible for memory, attention and emotional regulation.

We had a fantastic time at our charity coffee morning at the Kelvin Building in Belfast and loved getting the opportunity to chat with everyone about our music therapy services and the many benefits music therapy can bring.

A huge thank you to Formation Works for inviting us and for helping us spread the word about the positive impact of music therapy. And a very special thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, took the time to find out more about our work and made a donation to our charity. Your support means so much to us and helps us continue providing our music therapy services in Northern Ireland.

What a great night the team had at Culture Night Belfast 🎶🥁

The songs were playing and the drumming circle was in full swing! It was fantastic to see so many people getting involved and enjoying the evening with us. A huge thank you to everyone who came over to our stand and took part, we loved seeing you there!

And, of course, a big thank you to our fantastic staff and Trustees who volunteered their time to come along, support the event. What a brilliant evening celebrating culture, music and community!
