Belfast Lough Sailability

Belfast Lough Sailability Access to Belfast Lough for people living with disability/disadvantage. Sail; boat; kayak; just be on the water! RYASailability Ctr; Registered Charity

Our aim is to train, educate and encourage more people with disabilities or disadvantages on to the water. We have our own RYA qualified dinghy, powerboat and first aid instructors as well as a team of RYA qualified disability awareness trainers who regularly host awareness events to educate those helping or working with disabled persons. The group has grown rapidly over the last two years and is

exceptional in that it provides an activity not only for the disabled or disadvantaged individual but for the whole family unit. We offer people who think they can’t even get on a boat, let alone sail it, the chance to have a go.

Due to road closures and the expectation of large crowds in the immediate area (Harbour and Caste) we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow morning's session. This is to ensure the safety and accessibility of all volunteers and participants. We are sorry for the 2nd cancellation this week and appreciate your understanding.

As we celebrate Volunteers Week - thank you to every volunteer who makes BLS possible.

Behind every moment is someone who cared enough to show up. ❤️

You will often hear us say volunteers are the heartbeat of Sailability... and that's because it's true!💙

So many different types of people give up their precious time to ensure their local Sailability club can continue to provide life-changing opportunities for anyone wanting to get on the water⛵

Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes too - whether it's instructing and coaching, preparing the boats, helping with memberships, providing a warm welcome, spreading the word of your club, or even providing those vital hot drinks and homemade bakes, you are all making a difference!☕🍰

No matter the role, each is vital and we here at RYA Sailability want to say a huge THANK YOU!!!⭐
