Men's Sheds Cymru

Men's Sheds Cymru This is the official page of Men's Sheds Cymru - the project in support of Men's Sheds all over Wales. So what exactly is a Men's Shed? Its a win-win situation.

Every single person who hears about the Men's Sheds movement immediately confirms that it is a wonderful thing. If you're not personally interested we can guarantee that you know someone or have somebody close to you that would love the opportunity to be part of a Men's Shed. Essentially it is a Social Enterprise set up by Men for Men, and it's all about tackling the growing problem of isolation i

n our male population. There are a great deal of men out there with lots of time on their hands and a great deal still to offer. This is a chance for men within communities to come together, join or set up a Shed of their own and enjoy being around other males, talking, dreaming, playing, planning, creating, fixing, building, changing and growing. No two sheds are the same and what goes on in a shed is determined by the people who belong to it. A Shed is it's own unique, self supporting social enterprise with its own governance, constitution and ethos. There are currently around 2000 sheds in Australia, 200 sheds in Ireland and many emerging sheds across Europe. We, as the Association of Wales are here to support existing Sheds and Shedders, Advocate the potential of new Sheds and support those who wish to join or start Sheds. The model promotes "health by stealth" and generally enhances the well-being of all males involved who gain a sense of belonging and purpose, feel useful, connected and a part of their community again. Sheds are outward facing and often engage in activity that benefits the areas they're in. So, there it is in a nutshell. The movement is new to Wales and this is a period of enormous potential and rapid growth. Be a part of it! Shed happens. Get in touch with us to find a shed near you.... if there isn't one, we'll help you start one! We're looking forward to hearing from you. Team Men's Sheds Cymru.

First visit to Men’s Shed today—and what a fantastic day it was. Great to meet you all, and a huge thank you for the warm welcome (and the buffet!).

Glyncorrwg MS has recently moved from the Working Institute Glyncorrwg to their new spot at The Glyncorrwg Ponds Car Park, near the mountain bike centre.

Also managed a quick stop at Caerau Men ShedMen’s Shed—and finally took my first trip over The Bwlch, as recommended by Gyp and Brian - stunning scenery and a fun drive!'

Had a fantastic day meeting Beth, Matt, and Ant from the Royal British Legion Royal British Legion . Our visits to The Dusty Shed in Ely and Lisvane Men's Shed Men's Shed in Cardiff gave us all a deeper appreciation of the incredible work RBL does to support veterans and their families.

It was also a great opportunity for them to learn more about Men's Sheds and the positive impact they have on wellbeing, camaraderie, and skill-sharing.

A huge thank you to both sheds for welcoming us and sharing your stories. It's always inspiring to see the way sheds bring people together. Looking forward to continuing the conversation and partnership.
