Clydesdale Food Bank has been operational since March 2013. It was started by the Church of Scotland in Carluke, the Parish Grouping of the three congregations in Carluke in response to awareness of a growing need. It was quickly realised that we needed to look at a larger area and as a result we serve all of Clydesdale and are supported by churches of all denominations from all over that area as
well as schools, clubs and organisations of all types and also private individuals. The Food bank is run by volunteers who give many hours to collecting, sorting, packing and delivering food as well as taking part in various fund raising activities. As well as the main hub in Carluke, there are satellite distribution sites in Lanark, Biggar, Douglas and Kirkmuirhill, each with their own co-ordinator and team of drivers and deliverers.
