We have some exciting news

We are delighted to announce the new name of our charity, chosen by you!

🌟Sight Support West Cumbria 🌟

Previously known as West Cumbria Society for the Blind, we would like to thank all of our service users who responded to our name change consultations and provided feedback and suggestions. We have only been able to make this change through your input and support!

We think that the new name better reflects the work we do and hope that it will help us reach more people seeking support.

We have exciting plans to grow our charity and deliver new services, but we will continue to offer the same high level of support to people living with visual impairments in West Cumbria.

Good morning everyone,

I wanted to give you a further update about the next edition of In Touch. Today, I’ll be joining the show to discuss the newly introduced licensing rules for JAWS, Fusion, and other Freedom Scientific products.

You may have heard that Spearow, the holding company for Freedom Scientific, has now brought in a subscription-based license for JAWS in the UK — something I believe is incredibly costly. I had a call from Beth, the producer, who asked for my thoughts on this change, and I’ll be sharing my views during the programme.

I’d encourage you to tune in, listen to the discussion, and, if the opportunity arises, share your own comments too. It’s an important topic that affects many of us, and hearing a range of perspectives will be really valuable.

Thanks, and take care all.

Good morning everyone. I just wanted to give you all a heads up on the next addition of in touch coming up next week. There will be a feature on it with regards to the new licensing rules for jobs for windows on the freedom scientific products, fusion et cetera so please listen to the show next week and add your comments in if the opportunity arises during the show. I had a call from Beth the producer yesterday asking my view and opinion on the new licensing rules. If you are not aware the Spearow the Holding company for freedom scientific has now introduced a subscription based license for Jaws in the UK which, I think is incredibly expensive. Have a listen to what people say on the show and you can make up your own mind. Many thanks and take care all.
