🎨 ARTWORK SOLD! Bethany Neaves sells out at PRISM 2026

After just one year of painting regularly, Bethany Neaves has sold both of her artworks exhibited at PRISM 2026 at Tullie Museum and Art Gallery! ✨

Phil Barraclough, owner of Rainbow Bubbles, shared his thoughts after seeing Bethany’s work:

“There’s a depth to this painting I hadn’t expected.

I had no idea, when I first saw the exhibition, who the artists were. It was astonishing to see. Life affirming. A joy.
I hope that Prism continue this work.”

🎉 Prism Arts welcomes Maisie Hunt as our new CEO!

We’re delighted to announce that Maisie Hunt has been formally appointed as Chief Executive Officer, following her time as Interim Director throughout 2026.

Born and raised in Cumbria, Maisie brings a wealth of experience across the arts, charities and community organisations. She’s passionate about creativity, accessibility and championing the ambitions of learning disabled and neurodivergent creatives.

As we look ahead to our 40th anniversary year in 2027, we’re excited for this next chapter and everything we’ll continue to create together. 🎨

🎭 We’re recruiting: Performing Arts Lead

We’re looking for a creative, collaborative and inclusive practitioner to lead our performing arts programme at Prism Arts.

You’ll work alongside Prism Creatives to develop ideas, devise and rehearse work, and create opportunities to share it with audiences. We’re open to practitioners rooted in theatre, drama, dance, movement or music, with a good working knowledge of theatre practice.

✨ Permanent | Part-time | 2.5 days per week
📍 Carlisle
💷 £27,000 FTE

You’ll be joining a creative team committed to supporting learning-disabled and neurodivergent adults to develop their creative ideas, skills and confidence, with each person’s artistic voice at the heart of the work.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including learning disabled, neurodivergent and disabled people.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so don’t wait until the deadline to apply. The role may close early if we appoint sooner.

Thank you, Wild on the Wall! 🎶🌿

Prism studio member Millie was one of five of our creatives who were generously given complimentary tickets to attend Wild on the Wall Family Music Festival, along with tickets for their friends and family too 😃 💚

We’re so grateful to the Wild on the Wall team for choosing Prism Arts as one of the local charities to receive complimentary tickets this year. Making festivals and cultural events more accessible means that more people can experience live music, creativity and community together.

Millie had a brilliant time, and we’re so pleased she got to be part of the weekend! 🌻✨

Our studio may have been closed over summer, but that hasn't stopped Stuart Irving from painting at home. At home he has recreated Dunstanborough Castle after a trip there this summer! Our studio is now back in session and we are excited to have all our creatives back in our studio this week! 🥳🤩

Something special is coming soon to the Prism studio! 🗿✨

From 12 September to 22 November, we’re delighted to be hosting a sculpture by Lorna Graves as part of Tullie’s Street Museum: Searching for Simmonds project.

The sculpture has already inspired our resident performing artists, who have been exploring it as the starting point for a new original performance. We’re hoping to share the results of their creative work with you very soon!

Although the sculpture isn’t part of the public trail, Tullie has generously arranged for it to be installed here at our studio, giving our artists the opportunity to spend time with it and let it spark new ideas and creativity over the coming months.

Street Museum: Searching for Simmonds brings museum objects out into the city, connecting them with local venues, communities and creative spaces across Carlisle.

We’re delighted to be part of this exciting city-wide project and to continue our creative partnership with , bringing together museum collections and the work of Prism artists in new and unexpected ways. 💜

We’re looking for an ambitious, collaborative and values-led Chief Executive Officer to lead Prism Arts through an exciting period of growth and transformation.

As CEO, you’ll help shape the future of inclusive arts in Cumbria, with some big opportunities ahead:

🎨 Strengthen Prism’s long-term financial sustainability
🏠 Lead the search for a permanent, accessible home for Prism
🌱 Support the organisation’s growth and development
🤝 Build influential partnerships across Cumbria and beyond
🗣️ Champion the leadership and creativity of learning disabled and neurodivergent people
✨ Help ensure their work is seen, valued and respected

You’ll bring senior leadership experience, strategic and financial confidence, excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to equity, creativity and community.

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 FTE, depending on experience
Hours: 0.6 FTE
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria. Hybrid working considered, with a weekly on-site requirement.

This is an opportunity to lead a distinctive Cumbrian arts organisation and help shape what comes next.
