Lots of amazing things happening this month 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

On Saturday 26 September, as well as Pride 2026 (1pm-6pm) and the After Party (8pm for age 18+ only) in Box Arena (tickets are completely free) … we’ll have the LGBT+ Info Market running 10am-2pm in Carlisle City Centre 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Friday 4th
🤝 Kendal First Friday 🌳
New regular meetup on the first Friday of every month organised by Kendal Pride . We're kicking on Friday 4th September at 98 Highgate at 8pm. All welcome, just drop in and join us for a welcoming and friendly meetup of LGBTQIA+ folk. You also have the opportunity to experience forest bathing beforehand with Nature &Move. Here’s some FAQs …

Q: What day is Pride on?
A: Saturday 26 September

Q: How much are tickets?
A: They’re completely free

Q: Do you have to pay for the after party?
A: No that’s completely free too, entry is for age 18+ only

Q: Is there a booking fee?
A: No, it’s completely free
(Eventbrite do charge a small fee if choosing to make a donation online, but there’s no charge at all when choosing free tickets)

Q: Will you be taking donations on the day so I don’t have to pay online?
A: Yes, we’ll have our buckets on the day - cash or card donations - every penny raised will go towards Pride 2027 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Q: Is there a parade this year?
A: Sadly no … maybe we can raise enough to include this for Pride 2027 🤞🏻

Q: Do I need to have a ticket?
A: Tickets are free and can be booked in advance via Eventbrite, but you’re welcome to come along on the day without a ticket and provided there’s space we’ll let you in no problem!

We’re heartbroken to hear of the passing of Tim Curry 💔

For so many in our LGBT+ community, Tim will forever be Dr Frank-N-Furter, who taught everyone that it was okay to be different, to be bold, to challenge the rules and, above all, to be yourself!

Thank you for the glamour, the music, the mayhem and the joy!

Don’t dream it. Be it. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Today we say goodbye to Dolly Parton, a true icon whose music, generosity and kindness touched generations.

For our Pride community, we’ll remember Dolly for something just as important as the incredible songs she gave us - her message of acceptance. Long before LGBT+ acceptance became something many celebrities were comfortable speaking about, Dolly repeatedly made it clear that love should come before judgement. She stood up for her gay and le***an family members, supported marriage equality, and spoke out for transgender people facing discrimination in her home state of Tennessee. “I just want everybody to be treated good.”

Those words capture so much of what Dolly represented. She understood that behind every political argument are real lives. People who just simply want to be loved and accepted for who they are. Dolly once said, “I know and love them all, and I do not judge.” We hope that’s part of her legacy we can all carry forward.

Thank you Dolly, for the music, the laughter, the kindness, and for reminding us that being different isn’t something to be ashamed of. It’s something to celebrate.
