1862 City of Carlisle Squadron, Air Training Corps

1862 City of Carlisle Squadron, Air Training Corps The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is a Youth Organisation for ages 12 (Yr 8) to 20 in the United Kingdom

1862 (City of Carlisle) ATC is a welcoming and enthusiastic squadron based in Carlisle. We have a team of dedicated, knowledgeable staff with a wealth of experience between them, many of whom are ex RAF personnel. Here at 1862 we aim for an environment which supports and encourages our cadets while fostering their individuality and creativity. Being an Air Cadet helps to build confidence and chara

cter and helps to shape young people into independent, responsible citizens. Alongside camps, flying, gliding, shooting, Duke of Edinburgh and visits of RAF stations, 1862 sets young people up for the ‘real world.’ We provide first aid training, recognised qualifications and host social events, such as our annual Dine in night. This not only sets our cadets apart from the crowd when applying for universities or jobs, but also helps young people to build lasting friendships.

⭐️ CADET FEATURE ⭐️

Meet Corporal Bulman, our first cadet feature on our social media.

Corporal Bulman has been with us at 1862 Squadron for over 3 years now. Having been in cadets for 3 years, CPL Bulman enjoys “a bit of everything” — especially aircraft modelling! One of his favourite memories so far has been taking part in Carlisle Remembrance Parade.

Looking ahead, Corporal Bulman is interested in a future in music or media, with the possibility of joining the Royal Air Force ✈️

When asked to describe cadets in one word:

“Amazing.”

His advice to new cadets?

“Be confident.”

And their favourite aircraft is the legendary Avro Lancaster

Give CPL Bulman a 👏 in the comments!
