💙 Mellow Monday

Mindfulness doesn’t have to mean sitting still for an hour or clearing your mind completely.

It can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths, noticing your surroundings, slowing down while drinking a cup of tea, or focusing on one task at a time.

Which of these could you try today? 🌿

💙 Thank You Volunteers 💙

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, we’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers.

Throughout the week we’ve celebrated the people who give their time, compassion, skills and support to Safety Net. Today, we’d like to end the week by sharing some of the feedback we’ve received from people who have been supported by our volunteers.

These comments reflect more than practical support. They reflect confidence rebuilt, isolation reduced, encouragement given, and hope for the future.

To every volunteer who listens, encourages, believes in others and helps people take positive steps forward – thank you.

Your impact reaches further than you may ever realise 💙

We’re pleased to have received support from Josh MacAlister OBE MP, Minister for Children and MP for Whitehaven & Workington, for our application to the Copeland Community Fund.

The funding would help sustain and develop our Your Space project, providing trauma-informed early intervention support for young people across West Cumbria.

In his letter of support, Josh highlighted the importance of accessible, school-based support for young people affected by domestic abuse, sexual abuse, r**e and exploitation.

A huge thank you to Josh for taking the time to meet with us and support this important work.
