Website: www.edenvalleyhospice.org Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice provides care for adults in the local area and children across Cumbria with life limiting illnesses. The hospice has a 12 bed adult in-patient unit with eight single en-suite rooms and a four bed room. The home from home environment creates a relaxing atmosphere for patients and families with each room overlooking the recently transformed walled garden. Most days the sweet smell of freshly baked cakes fills the Day Hospice as patients, nurses and volunteers exchange stories about what has happened since they last met. Jigsaw provides care and support for children and young adults from throughout Cumbria. Every day, Jigsaw is filled with laughter and enjoyment as children and young adults take part in a wide range of colourful, creative and sensory activities. The annual cost of providing our services is over £3million, with only 27% received from the NHS. The kindness and generosity of the local community raises over £2million each year through fundraising events, collection boxes, legacies and much more.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Chris at Driftwood Cafe Allonby ! 💙

When our van developed a warning light and left Vicki and Emily stranded on a cold, windy afternoon, Chris came to the rescue. Not only did he give them somewhere warm to wait, but he also kindly treated them to hot chocolates and chips while they waited for a lift home.

It's acts of kindness like this that remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a wonderful community. Thank you, Chris! ✨

Thank you, John & Maureen! 💙

We were delighted to welcome John and Maureen Poland to our Fundraising Hub recently, where they kindly presented a donation in celebration of their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

Maureen previously volunteered as a nurse at Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw Cumbria's Children's Hospice, and together John and Maureen have supported their hospice right from the very beginning.

Supporters like John and Maureen have been part of your Hospice story for decades, helping us provide compassionate care and support to local people and their families when they need it most.

What a lovely few days we've had at Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice this week!

Gibson, Myles and Liberty have been making the most of the autumn fun, with trips to Aztec and Walby, plenty of smiles, and a very special birthday celebration for Myles. 🎂

The team baked a delicious cake to celebrate Myles' birthday on 15 October, making sure his day was filled with fun, laughter and happy memories. 🧡

💙 Megan Abba, alongside her family and friends, raised an incredible £3,120 at a coffee morning and fun day held at St James Church.

The day was organised in honour of Megan's beloved mum, Pam, who received end-of-life care at the hospice earlier this year. Reflecting on the care her family received, Megan said:

"I can't put into words the support the hospice provided to not only my mum, but to me and my family."

Thank you so much Megan, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. Your kindness will help us continue providing compassionate care and support to local families, like Megan's, when they need it most. 💙

The first-ever Race Across Europe has officially come to a close, and what an incredible adventure it has been. 💙

Seven teams travelled across 10 countries and 19 cities, navigating their way from Carlisle to Istanbul with no phones, no flights and a limited budget - all while raising vital funds for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.

The teams returned home on Monday evening to a fantastic welcome, and we loved sharing their arrival live on our page with supporters who followed every step of the challenge!

Together, they have raised more than £83,000 and counting to help local families access specialist hospice care and support when they need it most.

A very special thank you to Jane Sedgwick - Travel Counsellor whose time, care and expertise helped turn Race Across Europe into a reality. Jane spent the last year helping to plan the destinations, coordinate logistics and support the teams throughout their journey.

And a huge thank you to every participant, supporter, donor and volunteer who helped make this challenge such a success. 💙
