These ladies and their young people deserve the world and more- what an honour to work alongside them all summer!

❤️ THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING TEAM ❤️

🙌 What a summer this has been 🙌

Over the past few weeks, our community has come together through such a fantastic variety of activities — from looking for Wally in Chances Park, to an amazing day with the bouncy castles in Heysham Park, from a fun-filled day at Dalscone Farm to laughter, excitement and smiles at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and many others things in between.

There have been opportunities to meet new people, have fun, try something different, make friends and simply spend time together. None of this would have been possible without the time, commitment, enthusiasm and kindness of the incredible people who make up our activities team.

From the planning and organising, shopping, setting up the day before each activity, tidying away, cleaning toilets, welcoming people, preparing food, making hundreds of sandwiches for picnics, running activities, supporting children and families, encouraging others to get involved, or simply being there with a friendly face and a helping hand — every single contribution has mattered.

Volunteering is about so much more than simply giving your time. It is about creating a sense of belonging, making people feel welcome, building friendships, and helping to create a community where everyone has the opportunity to take part.

Throughout the summer, every member of our team has helped make that happen — and so much more.

You have given your time when you could have been doing something else. You have shared your skills, ideas, energy and enthusiasm. You have gone the extra mile, often behind the scenes, to make sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone had a positive experience.

Most importantly, you have helped create happy memories — moments of laughter, conversations, new friendships, shared experiences and opportunities for people to feel connected to their community.

I know that volunteering takes commitment, and our community is incredibly grateful for every hour you have given, every job you have taken on, and every person you have supported. Please know that all of your efforts have been noticed and genuinely appreciated.

A strong community doesn’t happen by accident. It is built by people who care, people who get involved, and people who are willing to give something back.

❤️ You are those people ❤️

Thank you for helping to make this summer such a fun, laughter-filled, welcoming and enjoyable time for our community.

Thank you for your patience, your generosity, your hard work, your smiles and your willingness to help. Thank you for making everyone who joined us feel included, valued and welcome. And thank you for helping bring our community together.

I hope you feel as proud of everything you have helped achieve as I am. Thank you for laughing at the sometimes crazy ideas but jumping in to the chaos anyway! The Hub and the churches are incredibly proud — and truly blessed — to have such a fantastic team working alongside our community.

Here’s to all the wonderful memories made this summer, and to many more community activities, friendships and shared experiences in the future!

Without a doubt, the best summer we’ve had in a long time! 🙌☀️❤️

Thank you for supporting me, each other, the hub, the churches and most importantly our community- Gemma xx
