This isn’t an uplifting story but shines a light on a very broken system, where too many fall through the cracks 😢
The story of Craig, for me highlighted again how important it is to show others kindness. Even a smile or a few words if we have nothing else to give - has value.

If you are having a clear out, decorating or replacing something then please feel free to pop a post on here. A sofa, table, lamp, microwave, clothing, even an old but useable Xmas tree or decs….anything that maybe someone else can make use of.
Even the ‘niceties’ like a painting, candlestick/candles, plants can go to someone who would love something ‘pretty’ but don’t need.

However we do it though please keep spreading the kindness because some will need that maybe more this time of year….when all around are the ‘signs’ that you can only enjoy if you have money spare.

So the group has had one success reuse, recycle ♻️ regift story, which I shall share in full over the next day or two.
A story of how the community pulled together 🥰
In the meantime - anyone who is currently in need of anything household, clothing, kitchenware, bedding, baby stuff etc the please post your request here.

At the moment this community is new and so membership is smaller but growing daily, I mention this as I personally am a member of Penarth and Barry reuse groups and it’s heartwarming to see the kind responses when members who are in need post a request. It works.

We have seen (in other groups) members post request for most household stuff due to difficult circumstances, whether having to leave their home suddenly and though they have secured other accommodation they are literally starting from scratch.
Most are struggling at the moment due to cost of living crisis and it feels good to help someone out in need if we have any items we can pass forward.

Please do reach out and post a request if you are in need. Most of us have experienced difficulties in life and there is a lot of kindness and help out there.

An introductory post - the group offers anyone the opportunity to offer items no longer wanted and rather than them go to landfill, you can offer to share your items here.
These groups work really well in other communities like Penarth, Barry, Bridgend etc.
In these tough times with lots struggling with the cost of living crisis, it’s just a lovely way to regift, reuse, recycle.

Your item/s could be pretty much anything, furniture - sofas, wardrobes, bed frames, tables etc. children’s clothing, toys, prams, games, baby equipment etc.
kitchen items like kettles, microwave, dishwasher, plates…..you get the idea.

Just take a few photos, upload with a brief note, ie, when available, general are to collect item etc. Anyone interested can comment to note their interest and you can then respond. Take it over to messenger to give address, number etc and arrange convenient times.

Let’s get gifting and do our bit to reduce landfill but also offer others within the community the chance of a much needed item they can not currently afford.
