Beautiful little Tortie/Calico kitten has had her operation to remove her eye πŸ₯Ί

She will need time to adjust and get used to having one eye, but we hope that she will be feeling better and now won't have any pain or discomfort.

She is a lovely little girl and is absolutely gorgeous when she is used to you 😻 she can be a little shy to begin with ❀️

We would love to find her a new home - ideally as an indoor cat as she will of course be disadvantages when it comes to navigating being outdoors.

Please get in touch if you may be interested in offering her a home...we do undertake home visits and feel that she would be better with a quieter home environment please xx 😊

Thank you xx

Please share - we have been notified of a kitten in the Halstead Street area of Newport that seems to be lost.

Please can you get in touch if you have lost your little one in the area and we can pass on your contact details. We would also need proof of ownership, so a picture of your kitten or identifying markings etc. The finder has taken to a local vet who advised not to post any pictures so we are respectful of their wishes but would still like the opportunity to reunite with owners.

Thank you 🀞

Beautiful little baby boy has been neutered, microchipped, 1st vaccine and had his hernia corrected.............

He was not at all impressed by the medical collar and whipped that off and proudly sat next to it as though he had won a little game 🀣

He has been washing the hernia site, so, sorry little tiger.......you have to have a medical suit instead to stop you pulling your stitches......he is currently making biscuits and looking sooooo cute in his little suit πŸ₯°.........just wondering how long he will keep that on for?

He is such a lovely little boy, but is absolutely bonkers 🀣 xx

🚜πŸͺπŸˆβ€β¬›

Absolutely love seeing the updates from Helen and Huw about the little farm boys ❀️

We want to say a massive thank you to Charlotte - Helen and Huw's daughter, who so kindly did a fundraiser Charity Stall for Catwel at school and raised £47 and rounded the donation up to £50 - we are so grateful 😊

"it’s because of the 5 little farm cats we’ve had from you - Spider, Mabel, Felix, Smokey and Bandit x to help other feral cats".

THANK YOU SO MUCH CHARLOTTE πŸ’•β€οΈ

We also have these amazing pictures of the boys at work.....good to see they are taking regular breaks too 🀣🀣🀣

Helen says "Can’t beat a bit of management supervision when you’re cleaning out the shed!!"

It's clear that the boys have turned their hands, or paws, 🐾 to all aspects of farm work 🀣 even a touch or mechanics!! The little brothers have a fantastic bond and are never far away from each other , they are also now great friends with Felix, the established farm cat (also from Catwel)!!

We did find it amusing to see Bandit had put himself in a cage.......it took us ages to trap the little tiger 🀣🀣.

We also now have a little one we believe is their sister trapped at the same site, so we hope we will be able to find a home that she will love as much as the boys love theirs xx

We have taken in some beautiful little kittens recently all with various eye conditions needing medication and veterinary care.

The little black and white baby boy came to us from another charity - he had very sore eyes and needed eye cream - he is looking much better in the second picture and is clearly feeling a lot better too! He has been reserved and will be neutered and will have a further operation on a hernia he has.

The second little girl is so pretty and so sweet but can be quite shy bless her 😻 she seems to have a dislodged / bulging lense πŸ₯Ί vets feel the best course of action is to remove her eye as we don't know if she can see through it or if it is causing any pain.

The final little kittens are little ferals from a local vet - they were likely born outside and didn't appear to have any other siblings or their mother nearby πŸ˜₯ they each have sore eyes and need three daily treatments of eye cream (much to their annoyance).

None of the little ones have been microchipped or claimed by owners so it's most likely that they were born to stray and feral mothers and would have the same destiny without being rescued πŸ˜₯

Please please get your cat spayed or neutered and don't let them outside to wander until they have been.

The little kittens in the last picture would be unlikely to survive a predator with no mum to protect them - it's so sad xx
( The little ones are not up for adoption yet as they are very hissy and spitty at the moment πŸ₯°)

Thank you x

We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather and managing to stay cool, comfortable and hydrated πŸ’–

As many followers will remember, we have to be very careful with gorgeous Nala, who does have ongoing breathing issues and often gets over excited when playing and can overheat and pant a little - which is not a good sign in cats!

We just wanted to share some helpful tips that may be useful πŸ™‚

The cats absolutely love the air conditioning units we have - as you can see from the pictures - but if you don't have any of those you can use fans to keep air circulation and cooling indoors.

We also would suggest keeping curtains and blinds closed which can keep rooms cool.

Also, hot water bottles can be used with cold/cool water and wrapped in a towel or some familiar bedding or clothing to encourage cats to lay on them, as can the cooler blocks used in food cooler bags.

We also find that the cats love rolling around on a tiled floor that has been mopped with cold water - although this effect doesn't last as long as the cool packs!

We also place cushion and pillow covers in the fridge and regularly change drinking water to ensure it's clean. You could also add some ice cubes to drinking water to keep it cool.

Our own cats and the cats in care don't go outdoors, so it can be easier for us to ensure they have shaded areas, but if you want to provide shade in areas of your garden you could hang or tie a sheet up to provide a shaded spot.

If there are any other tips that help - please share them to help cats (& dogs and other pets) stay cool 😎.

Thank you and stay safe πŸ₯° xx

We have been contacted regarding this little cat in the Barry area - does anybody recognise him or is anybody missing him?

We have been told that he is in great condition and is around 7-13 months old but not microchipped.

The finder says" I ..have a cat in my area keeps coming in my house .have knocked around an put out flyers it's been a week now ..he keeps coming in an can't get rid of him ..I have taken him to a vet he's not chipped he's been coming to me for a week but has been in other houses for the week prior. I am unable to open windows as he keeps coming in and using my house and garden to toilet. He won't leave my garden ..and won't stop crying"

Please get in touch if you think he may be your cat or if you know who owns him.

Thank you x
