Ladies of Rage is a Cardiff based platform for womxn working in genres where womxn are historically underrepresented i.e. hip hop, grime, drum’n’bass and other electronic genres. We’re open to rappers, singers, musicians, poets, producers, journalists, photographers, videographers – and pretty much anyone who wants to learn any of these skills and take their first step into the music industry.
We hold monthly jam sessions with open mic and decks for cyphers and performances, including spoken word breakdowns. These sessions are held in a local recording studio every last Friday of the month. We also run daytime sessions every other month where mothers are welcome to bring their children along, to ensure that nobody misses out due to childcare.
Ladies of Rage also platforms artists with quarterly showcase events, mixing live music, spoken word and DJ sets entirely by local womxn.
We have a private Facebook group for womxn only where you can discuss any music-related ideas or issues, look for collaborations or just find out more about what we’re getting up to:

This year we will be expanding by working with local organisations to boost the profile of our artists and attendees, as well as working alongside local charities working with vulnerable women. We will also be running workshops for various skills e.g. mixing, production, performance and how to write your first rap!
