Yn ddiweddar, croesawodd Cymorth Cynllunio Cymru gydweithwyr o Community Places Northern Ireland. Roedd yn gyfle ysbrydoledig i gyfnewid gwybodaeth dros ddeuddydd o amgylch Dydd Gŵyl Sant Padrig.
Yn ystod y deuddydd, buom yn rhannu gwybodaeth, archwilio ein systemau cynllunio cyffredin, a thynnu sylw at bŵer cynllunio dan arweiniad y gymuned. Roedd yn gyfle gwych i ddangos ein gwaith gyda Chyngor Tref Bae Colwyn gan ddod â phroses y Cynllun Lle (Place Plan) yn fyw trwy ddangos profiadau go iawn, a’r effaith a gafwyd yn lleol.
Roedd yn braf hefyd ymgysylltu â Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy, gan rannu mewnwelediadau ar gynllunio lleoedd a gweld â'n llygaid ein hunain yr adfywio cyffrous sy'n digwydd ledled Bae Colwyn.
Roedd yn gyfle gwerthfawr i gryfhau partneriaethau, rhannu’r pethau a ddysgwyd a pharhau i gynyddu cysylltiadau rhwng Cymorth Cynllunio Cymru a Gogledd Iwerddon, gan atgyfnerthu ein hymrwymiad cyffredin i rymuso cymunedau trwy gynllunio cydweithredol.

Planning Aid Wales recently welcomed colleagues from Community Places Northern Ireland to North Wales for an inspiring two-day knowledge exchange visit, held around St Patrick’s Day.
Over two days, we shared knowledge, explored our respective planning systems, and highlighted the power of community-led planning in action. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our work with the Bay of Colwyn Town Council, bringing the Place Plan process to life through real experiences and local impact.
We also valued the opportunity to engage with Conwy County Borough Council, exchanging insights on place planning alongside seeing first-hand the exciting regeneration taking place across Colwyn Bay.
A valuable opportunity to strengthen partnerships, share learning and continue building connections between Wales and N. Ireland Planning Aid Services, reinforcing our shared commitment to empowering communities through collaborative planning.

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF LAND NORTH OF HILLGROVE AVENUE
COMMUNITY DROP-IN EVENT – UPDATED INFORMATION
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
Planning Aid Wales has been commissioned to support community engagement on the proposed development of land north of Hillgrove Avenue, Mardy.
Planning Aid Wales is a registered charity that supports communities to understand planning proposals and to have their views heard. We will be acting independently and impartially to facilitate this engagement.
Bron Afon Housing Association, a not-for-profit registered social landlord, is exploring the opportunity to provide affordable housing on this site.

Community Drop-in Event Thursday 29 January 2026, 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Llantilio Pertholey C V Primary School
Hillgrove Avenue, Mardy, Abergavenny NP7 6LZ
Bron Afon have confirmed that the proposed development is not yet ready to begin the formal Pre-Application Consultation. However, based on feedback from the community this event will go ahead and provide as much information as is available at this stage. This event will provide an opportunity to:
• View emerging information about the proposal, including initial plans, the indicative scale and mix of homes;
• see a summary of community feedback received to date and understand how those issues are being considered;
• speak directly with representatives of Bron Afon and their professional team and ask questions and share views on the proposal at this stage.

Planning Aid Wales will be present to independently facilitate discussions, ensure views are captured accurately, and report feedback to Bron Afon to inform the ongoing development of the scheme.
This remains an early-stage event. Further opportunities to comment will be available at the formal Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) stage, once final detailed proposals are published.
Please feel free to drop in at any time during the session. For further information, please contact:

RYDYM NI AM GLYWED GENNYCH CHI!

Mae Cymorth Cynllunio Cymru wedi cael ei gomisiynu i ofyn am eich barn gychwynnol ar ddatblygiad Tir i'r Gogledd o Hillgrove Avenue, Mardy yn y dyfodol (mae’r safle i’w weld isod).
Mae PAW yn elusen gofrestredig sy'n cefnogi ymgysylltu â'r gymuned ar faterion cynllunio yng Nghymru. Mae gennym brofiad helaeth o helpu cymunedau i ddeall y system gynllunio a dweud eu dweud.
Mae Bron Afon yn fenter gymdeithasol nid-er-elw, landlord cymdeithasol cofrestredig a sefydliad cydfuddiannol cymunedol. Ar hyn o bryd maen nhw’n archwilio'r cyfle i ddarparu tai fforddiadwy ar y tir uchod.
Rydym ni wedi trefnu cyfarfod / digwyddiad i chi ddod i rannu eich barn gyda ni:

yn Ysgol Gynradd yr Eglwys yn Nghymru Landeilo Bertholau, Hillgrove Ave, Mardy, Y Fenni NP7 6LZ

Cyfarfod cychwynnol yw hyn ac, ar yr adeg hon, y prif bwrpas yw esbonio'r broses a deall eich barn ar egwyddor y datblygiad posibl. Yn y cyfarfod, bydd Cymorth Cynllunio Cymru yn annibynnol ac yn ddiduedd a bydd yn ceisio eich annog i gyflwyno eich barn. Byddwn yn casglu'r wybodaeth hon ac yn ei hadrodd yn ôl i Bron Afon i fwydo i'w hystyriaeth o'r datblygiad.
Cynhelir cyfarfod cymunedol arall i wneud sylwadau ar gynllun drafft yn Ysgol Gynradd yr Eglwys yn Nghymru Landeilo Bertholau ar 29 Ionawr 2026.
