Don’t Let Halloween Turn Into an Eye-Care Nightmare! 🎃

Spooky season is here, and while we’re all for a frightfully good costume, your eye health shouldn’t be part of the scare!

Planning on wearing coloured contact lenses or creating a show-stopping Halloween makeup look? Keep these tips in mind:

👁️ Choose contacts wisely – Only wear prescription costume lenses fitted by an eye-care professional.

🧛 Sharing isn’t caring! – Never share contact lenses, eye makeup or brushes.

🌙 Don’t sleep with the spooky look! – Always remove your makeup and contact lenses before bed.

🚨 Watch out for warning signs – Redness, pain or changes in vision are no trick! Remove your lenses immediately and seek urgent eye care.

🧑‍🦯 Local Action Group – Powys

Are you visually impaired? Would you like to share your lived experience to help shape local services?

We are inviting people from across the Powys area to take part in the Local Action group meeting sitting under the Sight Loss Council Cymru.

Date: Wednesday 7 October

Place: Metropole Hotel, Temple Street, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 5DY

Time: 12 – 4pm

Buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.

If you have a vision impairment and would like to meet others, make new friends or simply enjoy a morning out, our Llanfairfechan Visionaires group could be just what you’re looking for! ☕

Our monthly social group is open to adults with any eye condition, providing an opportunity to connect with others who have shared experiences, enjoy a good conversation and spend time together.

Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed with an eye condition or have had a vision impairment for some time, you’re welcome to come along.

When: Every second Tuesday of the month
Time: 10.30am–12pm
Where: Llanfairfechan Community Hall, Village Road, Llanfairfechan, LL33 2AB
