Good morning, I hope you’re all making the most of the hot weather ☀️
We just wanted to take a moment to please remember about water safety, especially when it comes to swimming in lakes, rivers, and other open water.
These areas can be incredibly dangerous. Strong undercurrents aren’t always visible, and the water temperature can drop suddenly, which can lead to cold water shock and seriously affect your ability to swim.
It’s really important for you to not be tempted to swim in these places, even when it looks calm or inviting.
If you do want to swim, always choose lifeguard manned beaches and swim between the flags, where it’s monitored and much safer.

30F City of Llandaff Squadron are very grateful to the Corps Veterans Association for their generous donation for a second year running!

Corps Security has a long and proud history of supporting the armed forces community, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to organisations such as ours. The donation will help us continue to save for our new minibus, which will facilitate transporting our Cadets to the plethora of activities our volunteer staff organise throughout the year.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lewis Flynn, a former cadet and former Civilian Instructor at 30F, who has created this link, and continues to champion the work of our squadron.

We are particularly proud to be associated with Corps Security and the Corps Veterans Association (CVA), whose work supports veterans, reservists and the wider armed forces community while maintaining the organisation’s strong military heritage.

In addition to this generous donation, we had a productive discussion and look forward to continuing to develop our affiliation in support of both our cadets and the wider community.

Thank you to everyone at Corps Security and the Corps Veterans Association for their support!

It’s excellent to see how they developed session to session!

A big shout out to our Indoor Climbing Assistants (ICA’s) who have gained their own qualification and are now passing their knowledge on to other cadets!

On Sunday our Cadets completed a challenging 20-mile mountain bike expedition over the weekend, exploring three of the finest parks in South Wales along Sustrans Route 47. The route took them through Taff Bargoed Park, Parc Penallta, and the scenic Sirhowy Valley Country Park.
Throughout the journey, cadets practised key cycling skills, including track stands and a “slowest race” challenge, while also taking in the impressive Maesycwmmer Viaduct. The ride finished with an exhilarating downhill section at Parc Penallta. Despite battling an epic puncture along the way, spirits remained high, and the group enjoyed a fantastic day filled with fun, teamwork, and great morale!

A big thank you for Directing Staff. CI Kelly Evans, C.I Jonathan Wright, C.I Paul Iddon and WATTO himself Flt Lt Andy Evans
