Last night 12 of our cadets attended our monthly climbing session!

It’s excellent to see how they developed session to session!

A big shout out to our Indoor Climbing Assistants (ICA’s) who have gained their own qualification and are now passing their knowledge on to other cadets!

On Sunday our Cadets completed a challenging 20-mile mountain bike expedition over the weekend, exploring three of the finest parks in South Wales along Sustrans Route 47. The route took them through Taff Bargoed Park, Parc Penallta, and the scenic Sirhowy Valley Country Park.
Throughout the journey, cadets practised key cycling skills, including track stands and a “slowest race” challenge, while also taking in the impressive Maesycwmmer Viaduct. The ride finished with an exhilarating downhill section at Parc Penallta. Despite battling an epic puncture along the way, spirits remained high, and the group enjoyed a fantastic day filled with fun, teamwork, and great morale!

A big thank you for Directing Staff. CI Kelly Evans, C.I Jonathan Wright, C.I Paul Iddon and WATTO himself Flt Lt Andy Evans

Congratulations to 12 cadets who have successfully completed their Blue Fieldcraft training last weekend!

Over two days, they immersed themselves in a blend of engaging classroom sessions and hands-on practical lessons.

A big thank you to The Wing Military Skills Officer, Sqn Ldr O’Connell and Sgt O’Hare for delivering such informative training.

Our final parade night of the year took place on the 19th December, with our annual Carol Service and Nativity and what a fantastic evening it was! We were also delighted to hold the enrolment of our First Class Cadets, and we would like to extend a very warm welcome to them as they officially join the squadron.

Well done to all the cadets who took part, there were some brilliant performances and some impressive acting skills on display. It was a fun and thoroughly enjoyable evening for everyone, rounded off perfectly with hot drinks and, of course, a Christmas mince pie!

As the year draws to a close and we break for Christmas, we would like to pass on our very best wishes to you all. The cadets truly are a credit to our squadron, and we are incredibly proud of them. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year.

We wish you all a safe, happy, and peaceful Christmas and let’s make 2026 the best year yet!

Merry Christmas! 🎄✨

A great effort from The Extra Milers in the Bag Drop who looked after thousands of race day bags! We had a lovely mix of individual volunteers and groups including 1148 Penarth Air Cadet Squadron Girlguiding Cymru RAF squadron and the Cardiff Army Cadets.

We would also like to thank Run 4 Wales for allowing us this opportunity!
