The Flourish project has now come to an end but it’s an end like no other.

After four years of exploring coproduction with our communities the legacy of the communities work lives on and is stronger than one project could ever be.

Asset based community development focuses on the people who live in our wonderful communities and the real value of what their experiences bring. Through a model of coproduction to listen, spend time with and codesign solutions led by the community, a number of initiatives from community cafes, school uniform swaps, summer picnic scheme, women’s empowerment group and the mighty Tremorfa Community Pantry, we have seen riches of experience and participation like no other.

We have met so many families and been part of so many stories and have stood in awe of the active citizenship unfolding before our eyes.

The investment was in the people of Cardiff as they are the assets that will remain and continue to Flourish.

Sorry we haven’t updated you for a while but it is bonkers busy . All the groups are creating amazing events in their communities . Tremorfa Community Pantry have been super busy as always supporting on average 120 households per week with food and toiletries. They have prepared activities for families throughout the summer . Kicking off with a I’m Bored Bag of fun things to do. The Summer of Picnic project . The Summer of Picnic Project is up and running for the third year . The children are the leaders .
Maryan has created the most beautiful summer of , memory making , activities in coproduction with ladies from Butetown. Museum trips , boat rides , trips to the Farm . It’s all so glorious .
Table top sales in Tremorfa . It’s all going on . Have a fabulous summer everyone .

Today has been such a beautiful day , seeing incredible community projects launch , grow and create magic .
An absolute delight to be involved with the launch of Tiger Bay ABC moving into Loudoun Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA). Phenomenal young people .
And Railway Gardens what a fantastic atmosphere, creativity , community and wonderful people . Splott is so lucky to have this on tne doorstep . Huge well done to everyone involved 👏👏👏👏👏

Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA) how proud are we??

This is Kane Williams. He’s on a mission to make sure every young person from his local area has a book to read over the holidays 📚🥰 The 12-year-old schoolboy loves reading (his favourite is Harry Potter) and he was upset to learn that a lot of kids in Wales don't actually own a single book of their own. So, he decided to make a change. Kane set out with the aim of collecting thousands of books and wants to give them out to every young person in his local community. He’s already collected over 1,500 and he’s not stopping there! Well done Kane 😁🙌❤️
