🪿 MARK BENNETT LECTURE
💪 CROWD WORK: BECOME A STRONGER PERFORMER

Join us at Cardiff Magic Society on Monday 14th September as we welcome Mark Bennett, owner of the legendary Smoke & Mirrors magic bar, for a practical lecture all about one of the most important skills a magician can develop: working with an audience.

This isn’t simply a lecture about learning new tricks. Mark will be sharing real-world techniques for creating an instant connection with spectators, confidently dealing with difficult audience members, thinking quickly when things don’t go to plan, and turning those awkward moments into memorable ones.

With over 30 years of experience and thousands of performances behind him, Mark will be drawing on his own experiences to explain what can take a good performer and turn them into a great one — with practical advice you can actually use.

Whether you perform close-up, cabaret, stage magic, or entertain in any other setting, this is an opportunity to improve the part of your performance that makes every effect stronger: you and the way you connect with your audience.

A little late posting this because we’ve all been out buying hairdressers bleach bottles and gaffing decks!

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EVENING!

Dave Forrest’s lecture was unbelievable, such workable material, card effects from a shuffled deck through to an entertaining Russian roulette effect!

On top of this Dave was brilliant, took the time in the interval to let our youngest magician (14) perform to him.

LECTURE: Dave Forrest

🗓️ Monday, 8th June,
⏰ 8pm,
📍 Penarth Cons Club (CF64 2EZ)

‘Sleight Returns’ sees a return to the close-up sleight of hand for which Dave was once better known. The lecture will include a range of original card and non-card material and will include something for magicians of all skill levels including material that looks more like sleight of hand than it actually is! Comprising mostly all new material, Dave will demonstrate how attainable sleight of hand can be and how to structure your routines to eradicate the ‘nervous tells’ that are often associated with it.
