As the school term ends across Cymru and the Senedd begins its summer recess, many school support staff face another summer stretching low pay across the year.

Senedd Members receive a full annual salary. Many school support staff have salaries based on around 39 working weeks, then spread across 12 months.

Term-time-only pay traps many skilled and essential workers in poverty. Support staff can win change by building a stronger UNISON in every school.

Become a school support staff champion. Help set support staff priorities, keep your colleagues informed and take one action to strengthen our campaign to end term-time-only pay. ✊

Yesterday, the importance of greater funding for children with Additional Learning Needs was the focus of a Senedd debate. This is a growing need in schools across Wales and support staff are clear: significantly more investment is essential to provide children with the targeted intervention they deserve.

UNISON together with the education unions have written to the Education Minister to demand that funding for ALN is allocated appropriately.

🕒 Can you get time off to attend? Yes – you have the right to ask.
UNISON members have the right to request time off for learning and development, which includes attending our School Support Staff Seminars.

✅ All attendees will receive a CPD certificate for the training delivered on the day

📢 Training session titles will be announced next week
