🔴 GMB staff are showing racism the red card.

Racism has no place in our workplaces, communities or society.

We stand together for equality, respect and justice for all. ✊

🌈 Pride in the Port — Standing Loud, Proud and United 🌈

No rain but plenty of rainbows today as GMB Wales & South West joined the celebrations at Pride in the Port, Newport — this year’s host of UK Pride.

It’s always powerful to see our members, activists and sister Unions standing together for inclusion, dignity and LGBTQ+ rights. Pride isn’t just a party — it’s a promise. A promise that we show up, speak up and keep pushing for workplaces where everyone can be their full, brilliant selves.

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, marched with us, or simply shared a smile. Newport brought the colour — we brought the solidarity.

🏳️‍🌈 Here’s to equality, every day.
🏳️‍⚧️ Here’s to Pride, in all its forms.

Bright and early 5:30am start outside Radnor Hills in Knighton with Paul McGuire GMB — because workers’ rights don’t wait for office hours!

A growing group of GMB Wales & South West members approached us asking for union recognition. Management refused voluntary recognition, so we’re moving forward with a CAC application.

Our members asked. We listened. Now the process begins.

Yesterday might’ve been a Sunday, but workers’ rights don’t take a day off — and neither do we!
Paul McGuire GMB and I headed to Radnor Hills in Knighton to kick off our campaign for GMB recognition on site.

A big thank you to all the GMB Wales & South West members who came over for a chat and grabbed one of our goodie bags — baseball caps and water bottles were definitely the heroes of the day in that heat.

After a solid couple of hours in the car park, management finally appeared to move us on.
They weren’t interested in discussing voluntary recognition, but they were very keen to tell us we were “unprofessional” for turning up.

If showing up for workers is unprofessional, we’re absolutely smashing it 💪

Campaign started. Members engaged. Momentum building. We’ll be back 🖤🧡
