Unison Cardiff Branch officers joined UNISON Cymru, Andrea Egan Unison General Secretary and UNISON members from across the UK to march in London, standing together against the rise of the far right. Tens of thousands of trade unionists, community groups and campaigners came together to show solidarity and stand up for equality, dignity and respect for all.

This is fantastic news for school support staff in Wales and something Unison Cymru & Unison Cardiff Branch have long campaigned for. Since the introduction of EWC Teaching Assistants are regs with a professional body and their pay & grade has long needed to reflect this!

Teaching assistants across Wales have won a major victory. 🎉

The Welsh government is scrapping level one roles after sustained campaigning by staff and UNISON.

There’s more to do on pay, workload and career progression but this is real progress.
