Michael Cole, the Commissioning Manager for Micro-provision in Lancashire, gained a lot from the space and new connections that our New Social Leaders of Neighbourhood Health and Wellbeing offered him.

He is working to empower communities to support each other using their own strengths, assets, and relationships. He says: "At its heart, my work is about helping people live the lives they want at home and opening up new pathways that encourage innovation, choice, and community‑led solutions."

if you're keen to step back from your day-to-day delivery, think about new ways of working, and meet others who share your values and commitment, submit your interest and we'll be in touch for a chat. Full info in the comments.

Gary lives alone and was struggling to connect to others in his community. His wellbeing and health were being impacted and when he visited an event held by his GP practice he was put in touch with Jackie, the Local Area Coordinator in South Tyneside.

Jackie spent time with Gary, understanding his life and some of his challenges. She was able to help him get connected and involved in his community and to start to live the life he wanted.

A great story of how Local Area Coordination can prevent social isolation and a person falling into crisis. Video story in the comments below.
