This week is Loneliness Awareness Week.💛

Did you know the Oddfellows Society have been "Making Friends and Helping People" since 1810.

In Cardiff this week we have some great friendship events:-

🧵🎨Tuesday 16th June- Weekly craft session at Oddfellows House, 19 Newport Road, CF24 0AA
From 1.30pm, pop along for a friendly chat ,and a cuppa or 2. Bring along an unfinished craft project;

🍽 Wednesday 17th June- Friendship Lunch at the Prince of Wales Wetherspoons from 11 00am. The first cuppa is on us, then you are welcome to stay for lunch. Cost as per menu.;

🎬 Thursday 18th June- Film club at Oddfellows House from 1.00pm.
This month we are showing Dad's Army (2016 PG)
We will be stepping back in time to the 1940's.
Refreshments provided ( donations appreciated).

At all our events you are guaranteed a warm welcome, smiling faces, fun and friendship.

The online events are well worth attending, they are free and from the comfort of your own home😎

If you own computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet and its connected to the internet, you've got your ticket to around 60 FREE online events every month. And you don't have to be an Oddfellows member to come along! 💻

Throughout our long and storied history, we've had many well-known members. Even royalty! 👑

In his early 20s, King William IV stumbled across an Oddfellows meeting at the Feathers Pub, Pimlico. Not only did he insist on becoming a member instantly, but also the Branch’s Chairman. Who could say no to royalty? He became a lifelong member.

Once a month in Cardiff we hold a Film club "Movies and Mocktails".

Today we started with a lunch, everyone brings a plate to share, the Mocktail was Alibi Fizz and the film "Keeping Mum" A great comedy with a murderous twist.

Our District Secretary and Social Organiser love to embrace the event with costumes connected with the film.

Lovely seeing all, and we appreciate everyone's contribution with food and clearing up.

Next film is in June- a 1940's street party themed followed by "Dads Army".
